Senior Safety Coordinator

Job Summary

The Senior Safety Coordinator is responsible for overseeing safety initiatives and providing support for DOT compliance efforts. The ideal candidate for this position needs strong leadership skills, sharp attention to detail, and a comprehension of DOT regulations governing the trucking industry

Essential job duties include:

• Analyze safety data and trends to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations for management.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety and DOT compliance activities.
• Assist the Manager of DOT Compliance in ensuring adherence to FMCSA regulations and company policies.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries, escalated matters, or other issues before escalating to the Manager of DOT Compliance.
• Ensuring CMV drivers adhere to FMCSA & DOT compliance pre and post hire.
• Monitoring driver alerts to ensure continued qualification.
• Reviewing medical situations to determine what follow up actions may be required.
• Reviewing, coaching and disciplining drivers on DOT HOS violations.
• Being available for phone calls from our driving partners.
• Proactively coaching drivers in problem areas.
• Uploading and organizing personnel files.
• Training other employees in all the above as assigned.
• Various projects as needed.
