Pay: $150,000-$190,000/year

We are seeking an experienced, successful, and engaged Human Resources Director to join our team. This position is expected to work out of our office, currently located at 610 E. Gish Rd. and limited job-related travel may be required.


Position Summary:


The Human Resource Director will manage, direct, develop, plan, and coordinate policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource and Payroll departments, ensuring legal compliance, internal development.



Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the daily workflow of the HR and Payroll Departments with direct and indirect reports. Ability to mentor, guide and provide direction to other individuals.
  • Successfully implements and oversees the administration of human resource principles including recruitment, selection, payroll, talent management, internal investigations, compensation, benefits, labor relations, M&A experience, leave management, and HRIS systems.
  • Maintain knowledge of HR trends, regulatory changes, new technologies, employment law updates and other regulatory changes that impact the business.
  • Oversee, manage, and assist with mandatory compliance reporting requirements, internal audits, and external audits. Ensure accurate and timely reporting is completed.
  • Assist with strategic planning, resource allocation, human resource modeling, leadership techniques, production methods and coordination of people and resources.
  • Develop and lead internal training and communication to ensure management compliance across all sites and companies.
  • Educate and advocate Company performance philosophy and practices within the business to ensure fairness and consistency to inspire greater employee and organizational performance.
  • Help implement HR best practice policies and procedures that align to the Company’s strategic and operational business needs.
  • Conduct research and analyze HR trends. Provides findings to the VP of HR that provide value or align with our organizational goals.
  • Advise leaders and oversee employee relation issues. Work with management teams to identify and address trends in employee performance issues and to advise on appropriate remediation and/or disciplinary processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work under time constraints, maintain confidentiality, respond to time sensitive initiatives and ability to pivot across multiple HR/Payroll functions occurring simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with senior management and executives across various areas including project management and policy roll outs.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and direct staff.
  • Ability to learn, understand and implement complex policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgement as appropriate.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and an ethical mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and conduct presentations.

  • Extensive knowledge and application of HR and Payroll practices and policies.

  • Proven skill in balancing critical issues with operational concerns.
  • Basic understanding of human behavior and performance.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field required.
  • At least five (5) years of management experience required.
  • At least ten years (10) of human resource experience required and at least five (5) years of payroll experience required.
  • PHR, SHPR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification required.
  • Valid Class C Driver’s License


Language Skill:


  • Proficiency in English, bilingual in Spanish preferred

Physical Demands:


  • Prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to fifteen pounds occasionally.
  • Regional travel required (up to 20% of the time). May require overnight travel occasionally.


Work Environment:

The typical work week is Monday through Friday. This position is expected to work in the office and requires in-person communication. Semi-frequent early morning, evening and weekend calls/correspondence may be required to address urgent matters. Might be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and odors/smells. Ability to work in settings with constant change, time constraints and ability to communicate with all levels of management including the executive team.


Compensation and Benefits:


Financial compensation will be commensurate with applicable experience. GreenWaste offers a competitive benefits package, including paid time off, holiday pay, 401K benefits, FSA, LTD, life insurance and full employee coverage for medical, dental and vision insurance. This role may be eligible for an annual bonus.
