JOB TITLE: QUALITY CONTROL LEAD

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Purpose and Scope

The Quality Control Lead is responsible for planning and directing and/or coordinating the work activities and resources necessary for quality functions on the production floor.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates quality activities on the production floor.
• Interacts with manufacturing and engineering on quality related matters.
• Performs day to day quality functions on the manufacturing floor to review and verify the quality of products.
• Assist with quality inspections when increased workloads require it.
• Reviews operations and confers with technical or administrative staff to resolve quality or processing problems.
• Coordinates and recommends procedures for equipment maintenance or modification.
• Examines samples of raw products or directs testing during processing to ensure finished products conform to prescribed quality standards.
• Supervises quality inspectors to ensure completion of required job tasks and functions.
• Prepares and presents Annual Performance Reviews to all direct reports, including goal setting and monitoring performance.
• Creates inspection programs and writes inspection procedures.
• Ensures work orders are fully completed and closed.
• Ensures all equipment on the Quality floor is calibrated.
• The completion of any special projects assigned by Manager.

Organization Relationships

The Quality Control Lead reports to the Quality Control Manager/Director of Quality

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Training

• Quality Control Lead's education needs a minimum of a High School diploma .

Technical Requirements

• The Quality Control Lead is required to read and understand technical information, specifications, drawings, and quality systems documents as they relate to the operation of the business. This includes the ability to interface with both technical and non-technical personnel. Vision system programming and GDIT experience preferred. IQMS experience a plus.

Experience

• 5-7 years of quality system management or related experience preferred.
