Human Resources Manager

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for overseeing all HR functions, providing strategic guidance to senior management, and ensuring that HR initiatives align with the organization's goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR management, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of HR best practices. The Human Resources Manager carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas; liaison for organization's Professional Employer Organization (PEO), administers the HR information systems, benefits administration, employee relations, counseling, training, on-boarding, policy implementation, employee separations, and employment law compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works as the liaison between the organization and organization's PEO.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall organization strategy.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements to minimize risk/exposure to the organization. Maintains compliance knowledge by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Develops and administers various human resource policies and procedures for organization personnel in its entirety; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures and guides; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, day-to-day administration, communication, and training for employee benefits programs.
  • Lead employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions including educating management and employees regarding disciplinary actions, moves and terminations.
  • Responds to human resources related questions and issues from management and employees (e.g., performance, discipline, termination, etc.) to ensure accurate and consistent interpretation and application of policies and procedures and to maintain compliance with employment law and regulations.
  • Administer new employee on-boarding and orientation including conducting or acquiring background checks and employee eligibility verifications. .
  • Assists in generating official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, and disciplinary warning letters.
  • Coordinates the responses to unemployment claims, verification of employment requests, and other employee related requests.
  • Schedules and facilitates HR training regarding company systems, compliance training and company programs.
  • Expert ability to handle confidential, sensitive, and critical issues.
  • Maintains physical and digital files for employee documents, benefits, and attendance records across multiple platforms.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings as deemed necessary.
  • Performs general clerical work such as data entry, filing, copying, mailing, etc.


Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Management, or related field.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Superb organizational and time management skills to include meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent researching/problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.

Licenses and Certifications:

HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or SPHR) is a plus.
