Job Description

The Accounting Coordinator I - National Accounts is a full-time non-exempt position performing Accounts Receivable functions for the National Account Services team at CorVel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must be able to complete the following essential functions on a regular and consistent basis -

  • Download and maintain copies of deposits from bank lockboxes and ACH reports, then key deposit information into Excel spreadsheets.
  • Perform timely application of a high volume of transactions in PeopleSoft according to company policy.
  • Process customer’s remittance from either check copies or Excel remit files and apply payments in PeopleSoft.
  • Research and resolve unidentified items and discrepancies prior to month-end close
  • Research, resolve, notify local offices of billing discrepancies
  • Research, review, and resolve customer credits, refunds and write offs as directed in a timely manner according to company policy.
  • Understand and follow company procedures for cash application, adjustments, write-offs and refunds
  • Assist in the production and analysis of A/R reports.
  • Prepare, analyze and distribute aging reports from PeopleSoft AR
  • Import/export data files between systems
  • Recommend process changes that will increase efficiency and effectiveness
  • Respond to accounts receivable inquiries and provide information to field offices, co-workers, and management by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person
  • Communicate promptly and clearly with internal parties on cash or customer issues.
  • Requires regular and consistent attendance.
  • Comply with all safety rules and regulations during work hours in conjunction with the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (“IIPP”)
  • Additional duties as required

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of accounting procedures and policies
  • Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office applications, with intermediate level Excel including v-lookups
  • 10-key by touch
  • Understanding of payment lockboxes and cash processing functions
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment while maintaining accuracy
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with teammates to accomplish goals
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, time management and organizational skills
  • Problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to communicate clearly via written and verbal communication techniques
  • Must be able to work independently to meet deadlines, demonstrate strong attention to detail, a high degree of accuracy, and the ability to follow-thru on assignments.

COMMUNICATION REQUIREMENTS

Written and verbal communication is required to perform the essential job duties of contacting customers and internal contacts in accordance with good business etiquette.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Required - Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in accounting or business related field
  • Preferred - 2+ years of accounting experience in high volume ERP accounts receivable system
  • Preferred - PeopleSoft Accounts Receivable knowledge and experience

PAY RANGE:

CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.

For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.

Pay Range: $15.98 - $25.69 per hour
