Director of Consumer Event Marketing, Motorsports and Outdoor

Bonnier is looking for a dynamic and innovative Director of Consumer Event Marketing who shares our passion for motorsports and outdoors and helping industry leading companies and enthusiasts live their passion. This role reports to the EVP of Motorsports and Outdoor and will manage a team of two.

The Director of Consumer Event Marketing is an event marketing professional who has direct experience marketing consumer events. We are looking for an individual with experience in marketing for both spectators, as well as sponsors and exhibitors. Supporting world-class events like the Open Season Sportsman’s Expos, Sand Sports Super Show, Off-Road Expo, and Street Machine Nationals, this position is a great opportunity to lead marketing for both sales and audience. The position is remote and is responsible for leading the marketing of our events.

What You’ll Do: Audience

-Oversee and execute omnichannel marketing plans to drive attendee/participant acquisition.

-Manage marketing budgets, track campaigns and performance reports using Google Analytics.

-Lead the analysis, development, and presentation of event marketing plans, attendance updates, and pacing reports, leverage data to optimize results.

-Both direct and be hands-on in creative development, email marketing, organic and paid social media, PR, event web pages, advertising, partnerships, and deliverables, and drive innovative ideas, process optimization, and improvements.

-Deliver marketing plans inclusive of event creative, event proposal template, communications messaging for email, press, and social, video content and community outreach and engagement.

-Define and build audience segments, campaign schedules, KPIs, and ensure timely implementation of all event marketing activities.

-Develop creative brief, develop and write themes, copy, subject lines for email marketing campaigns.

-Develop strategic marketing partnerships with media publications, sponsoring and exhibiting companies and other industry groups.

-Be an integral member of the on-site team leading marketing operations at the event, engaging with stakeholders and building our brands.

-Conduct post event surveys and leverage feedback to help support renewal efforts and generate new business.

What You’ll Do: Sponsorship and Exhibits

-Oversee and execute omnichannel marketing plans to drive leads for sponsorships and exhibits.

-Develop sales collateral, sales kits, media kits and post event reports for sales team and marketing to support sales of sponsorships and exhibits for all events including lead generation.

-Build sponsor and exhibitor audience segments and create programs to generate leads.

-Conduct post event surveys and leverage feedback to help support renewal efforts and generate new business.

-Ensure fulfillment of sponsorship deliverables

About You:

-You are both a thinker and doer, and you combine strategy and execution.

-You have 7+ years of direct event marketing of consumer and or B2B events and have at least a Bachelor’s degree.

-You possess exceptional digital marketing experience with a record of executing successful digital marketing campaigns using email marketing and organic and paid social for events.

-You are well versed in marketing platforms. You have hands-on mastery of email marketing/lead generation platforms, and ticketing platforms.

-You are both a team builder and someone who can work on their own.

-You have proven experience in project management, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and managing multiple constituents—a proactive approach to work is essential.

-You are a strong communicator with excellent oral/written communication/presentation skills and in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

-You are digitally connected and savvy. You are highly proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WordPress, Meta, IG, Tik Tok and Adobe.
