Frost Brown Todd LLP, a national law firm of 1000+ legal and business professionals in seventeen markets, is currently seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to join our Cincinnati, Indianapolis or Louisville office.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Working with the Controller and Partnership and Tax Manager to obtain and review documents requested as part of the Firm’s annual audit.
- Preparing and reviewing reconciliations for Firm bank accounts. Ensuring all activity is accurately posted to the Firm’s general ledger.
- Overseeing the monthly close of the Firm's general ledger. Ensuring monthly recurring journal entries are accurate, balance sheet reconciliations are completed, and necessary journal entries have been entered.
- Preparing monthly variance analysis prior to close to identify any potential concerns prior to the close of the general ledger.
- Managing the creation of all new general ledger accounts.
- Maintaining the monthly bookkeeping for firm ancillary businesses and PAC accounts as needed.
- Reviewing outstanding Accounts Receivable balances to ensure any Unallocated Funds are processed timely.
- Tracking and following up on outstanding firm checks to assist with the preparation of Unclaimed Funds filings.
- Training new employees on accounting activities and systems. Participating in orientation for new employees.
- Assisting in Firm projects as needed, including but not limited to system implementations and updates and business process reviews.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Accounting strongly preferred.
- 3-5 years of professional experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred,
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Possess strong analytic skills necessary to interpret and react to key data related to firm cash management.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills for preparation of various management reports.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to deliver exceptional client service, demonstrate flexibility, adapt to changes, and be team oriented.
