Position Description:

The Sales Engineer will collaborate closely with our interdisciplinary teams to showcase the innovative solutions Stafl Systems offers. This involves understanding customers' core challenges, navigating their technical and business needs, developing and delivering customized presentations, steering the evaluation process towards successful technical solutions, and ensuring long-term customer success and satisfaction. This role is a hybrid position, with the expectation of being in the office for the first 30 days to get to know the team, our products, and our processes.

A Day in a Life:

  • Craft and deliver sales presentations & demonstrations that show how Stafl Systems can uniquely address a customer's needs and deliver cutting edge technical value.
  • Gather technical requirements and validate technical fit, ensuring a smooth handoff to implementation teams and setting up customers for success
  • Assist with coordinating proposal preparation between departments, stakeholders, vendor and customer contacts.
  • Provide technical advice and support to customers regarding battery specifications, performance, and integration. Help customers understand the advantages and applications of different battery technologies.
  • Gather customer feedback and work with product development teams to enhance product offerings.
  • Work closely with business development, engineering groups, and production teams to ensure that customer commitments can be met.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activities and prepare regular sales reports.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to adjust sales strategies and capitalize on new business opportunities.
  • Travel to client sites and attend trade shows as needed to demonstrate products, services, foster relationships, and stay informed about industry trends. Expect to travel approximately 30-50% of the time, varying by sales territory and business needs.

What You Bring:

  • Minimum of 5 years of complex technical sales roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in technical sales, ideally in the battery or related high-tech industry.
  • Strong understanding of battery technology, including lithium-ion, solid-state, and other battery chemistries.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear and persuasive language for non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
