Assistant Manager

The Assistant Manager is in charge of the operations of the Subway Shop during the shift they are working. From helping manage the staff, to performing the cleaning, customer service, and food preparation duties, the Assistant Manager, working directly with the Subway Shop General Manager and Owner is a vital part of the successful management of the Subway Shop.

Position Overview: The Assistant Manager's goal is to operate a clean, safe, and profitable Subway Shop where customers like to eat and employees like to work. The Assistant Manager works closely with the Store Manager, Area Supervisor, and the Store Owner to recruit and manage a strong team, and develop long-term relationships with their customers and employees.

Position Classification: Full Time or Part Time

Position Reports To: General Manager, Operations Manager, and Store Owner

Position Manages: Shift Leaders, and Sandwich Artists

Minimum Education: No Education Requirement

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry boxes and /or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds;
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time (90%), Sitting (10%);
• Ability to climb, balance, reach, grab, stoop, crawl, bend, and crouch for extended periods;

Primary Responsibilities:

• Recruit, provide training for, and manage all employees while on duty.
• Represent Subway and Fisher Management in a professional manner with all employees, customers and vendors.
• Fully understand Subway's policies and procedures as defined in its Operations Manual.
• Communicate and enforce all handbook and Company policies.
• Help Schedule labor in accordance with federal wage and hour regulations.
• Provide employee coaching and additional training as needed.
• Ensure that all store premises and equipment are clean, secure, safe, and properly maintained.
• Safeguard and manage all store funds, merchandise, and inventory.
• Reduce operating costs by monitoring and managing all controllable expenses.
• Complete and transmit (via computer) all required reports and documentation in a timely manner.
• Other duties as may be assigned.
