Reports To: Director of Culinary / Food & Beverage, Food & Beverage Manager, Food & Beverage Supervisor, Senior Catering & Banquet Manager

Supervises: Pool Cafe Attendants

Job Description: To consistently achieve the service and product delivery standards with a high degree of member care and service throughout the pool cafe experience and to provide an exceptional and memorable guest experience. The Pool Cafe Lead Intern is responsible for overseeing the Pool Cafe in the overall operation in accordance with Oak Hill Country Club standards.

General Requirements:
  • Complies with Oak Hill Country Club's Acorns of Excellence.
  • Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and dressed in accordance with Oak Hill Country Club's appearance standards.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Anticipate guest and contact needs, ascertain satisfaction, and respond urgently and appropriately to concerns and requests.
  • Exceptional communication abilities when interacting with associates, guests, clients and internal departments to build relationships.
  • Able to consistently perform tasks with little direct supervision.
  • Works harmoniously and professionally with co-workers.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Direct supervision of Pool Cafe Attendants
    • Provides initial training upon hiring and continues training daily.
    • Schedules and selects appropriate number of attendants based on anticipated guest count.
    • Ensures all Pool Cafe Attendants are compliant with the safe handling and service of alcohol. Ensure all employees go through alcohol beverage training.
    • Ensures all daily side work is completed and that all cleaning of the Pool Cafe and equipment is accomplished according to schedule.
    • Conducts daily pre-shift meetings.
  • Upholds Pool Cafe standards and operating procedures to include steps of service.
  • Actively develops processes to increase revenue in the Pool Cafe.
  • Anticipates member needs, ascertain satisfaction, and respond urgently and appropriately to concerns and requests.
  • Develops and maintains a part stock list for Pool Cafe.
  • Inspects Pool Cafe daily at the beginning and end of each shift for cleanliness and proper setup and breakdown of all areas.
  • Ensures all areas and products meet health safety, alcoholic beverage, fire and other laws and requirements standards.
  • Actively manage and be present for all events at the Pool.

Job Qualifications

Education:
  • Actively pursuing a degree from a hotel, hospitality, or restaurant school/college preferred.

Licenses & Certificates:
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits.
  • Valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to continuously sit, stand, and walk a minimum of 8 hours.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and perform strenuous work lifting.
  • Must be able to bend, kneel, push, and pull over the course of a shift.
  • All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per Oak Hill's appearance standards.
  • Will be required to perform job functions outdoors and be exposed to sun, heat, humidity, and other elements.
  • Must be able to work a flexible shift that includes early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and extended shifts. An average of 50 hours a week is expected, especially in busy season.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation to and from work.
