What You’ll Do:

As the Technician Development Supervisor, you will lead the development of Apprentice Technicians, Level 1, into competent heavy-duty Level D diesel technicians in a consistent and standardized manner. You will oversee a team ranging from 10-15 apprentices, with an expected development time ranging from 12-16 months. Your role is pivotal in ensuring the growth and proficiency of our technician workforce.

Job Duties:

• Train apprentices in work habits and ethics reflecting VTC’s core values.
• Manage team roster for task coverage and apprentice progression.
• Conduct competency assessments and provide feedback.
• Track and report apprentice progression and metrics.
• Collaborate with schools for apprentice talent sourcing.
• Coordinate onboarding for new apprentices.
• Collaborate with VTC training team for necessary training.
• Improve apprenticeship program standards and procedures.
• Utilize 5S for workplace safety training.
• Plan apprentice progression strategies.
• Coordinate training paths with stakeholders.
• Track training progression for various programs.
• Ensure compliance with online training requirements.
• Conduct quality control inspections for repairs.
• Coordinate service process training sessions.
• Monitor apprentice attendance and timeliness.
• Address disciplinary issues as needed.

Job Qualifications & Requirements:

• Professional communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Minimum 5 years of technician development experience.
• Minimum 3 years of leadership experience.
• Minimum 5 years of dealership warranty compliance experience.
• Experience in process development and training.
• Proficiency in metrics and progression tracking.
• Operational or technical background.
• Knowledge of apprenticeship standards, training, and compliance.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to pass post-offer drug test, physical, and lift.

Compensation:

• $95,000-$105,000 based on experience and qualifications
