Personal Trainer

The certified personal trainer is responsible for quality fitness training in our Wellness Center. This person will provide exercise advice and personalized training for clients on an individual or small group basis, of all skill and fitness levels. Prior personal training experience is required. Pay will be based on the # of clients booked within a time period. We encourage our personal trainers to work our Wellness Floor, as a means to introduce yourself and obtain future personal training clients.

Responsibilities

• Ensure training meets YMCA and/or ACSM standards
• Ensure training plans are safe and healthy to meet goals
• Maintain working knowledge of wellness and trends
• Be prepared for all appointment sessions
• Teach with energy and enthusiasm
• Motivate participants
• Provide effective spotting techniques
• Respond to emergency situations and assist in first aid as needed
• Complete all required trainings and meetings
• Keep accurate records for every session and client
• Retain training clients and grow client base

• Must have and maintain Personal Training Certification with ACE, ACSM, or other approved national accredited organization
• Must have and maintain CPR & 1st Aid Certification
• Have practical experience
• Strong interest in the health/wellness or related field
• In good physical condition
• Must be aware of recognizing exercise-induced distress
• Ability to think independently and develop personal training plans to meet client's individual goals
