Childcare Food Service Manager

The Greater Valley YMCA is looking to hire a Childcare Food Service Manager for our Westgate - LVHN (PA) location!

Childcare Food Service Manager Salary: $13.00 - $15.50/hr based on experience

Childcare Food Service Manager Hours: Monday through Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Full Time)

Childcare Food Service Manager Responsibilities:

• Previews menus to determine type and quantities of meats, vegetables, fruits, grains and milk to be obtained and prepared for children, and special functions
• Plans and coordinates cooking schedule, through batch cooking, so that food will be at the peak of quality, and at proper temperature at required times
• Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipes. Ensures that all foods prepared meets existing standards for quality, freshness, taste and appearance
• Production for following days meals are prepped, label and communicated to Childcare Director and or supervisor prior to end of shift
• Ensures that all cooking equipment and utensils are inspected and maintained for cleanliness and proper operation
• Ensures that required sanitary levels are maintained throughout the food preparation process by record keeping of CACFP log, production sheets , cooling logs and sanitation cleaning schedule and or list
• Check with Childcare Director that all logs and production sheets are filled out correctly. What was prepped, served, and remaining before end of shift
• Works to assume more responsibility, increase knowledge, and become a more productive member of the Nutrition Services staff
• Set up food, supplies, and utensils for meal service
• Reduce waste, reuse items, and recycle as indicated through the facility's procedures
• Maintain inventory counts of products
• Maintain organization of freezers and refrigerators
• Work as a member of the childcare team
• Check with a Childcare Director regarding any food allergies and or dietary needs
• Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may be assigned

Childcare Food Service Manager Qualifications:

• Two years previous experience in large scale food preparation
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required
• Training in institutional food preparation preferred
• Possess or obtain current Serv Safe Food Manager certification
• CPR, First Aid and AED certifications are required within thirty (30) days of employment
• Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Police Clearance, FBI Clearance, NSOR (National Sex Offender Registry Clearance)
• Health Assessment and TB test
