Job Summary:

The Senior Operations Associate will work individually or in a team environment and support relevant supervisors to ensure all shipments are handled and stored accurately in accordance with company policy and procedures.

The pharmaceutical industry is one of the most stable job industries in the United States and the World. The biopharmaceutical industry as a specialty within the pharmaceutical industry is fast growing sector with increased financial gains, burgeoning jobs opportunities and potential for advancement. This position is an entry level position in the biopharmaceutical industry where associates will gain key skills, experience and knowledge in repository management. Associates will interact with all levels of employees and with customers. This role requires good communication skills, customer service skills and the ability to learn new things. The successful candidate will have some knowledge of shipping, receiving and inventory control procedures and will work well in a team environment. The job involves activities of a repetitive nature and requires attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. Accuracy is required in performing all functions of this position. This position requires the individual to be a self-starter and maintain strong attendance and performance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure materials are handled at the appropriate temperature.
  • Ensure that shipments are sent and delivered on time and in accordance with all client requirements.
  • Track shipments to ensure delivery and update client of delays, escalate to supervisor for resolution.
  • Address operational errors, deviations and investigations. Think of corrective or preventive actions, if any, that may help prevent such occurrences in the future.
  • Strong knowledge and utilization of the inventory database including all report features.
  • Organize and maintain inventory for efficient storage space and safe handling of materials.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve ant inventory discrepancies.
  • Conduct annual cycle counts, as required.
  • Plan, prioritize, problem solve and multi-task.
  • Assist in training new associates and showing them the correct way to perform tasks and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Follow all SOPs pertaining to site distribution including, but not limited to, control of documents and quality policy.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Skills/ Knowledge/ Abilities:

  • Intermediate computer skills with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Able to quickly learn various electronic databases.

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to operate forklift and scissor-lift.
  • Ability to operate equipment at various heights.

Essential Functions:

  • Must be able to lift 30lbs regularly and 50lbs occasionally.
  • Must be able to handle cold temperatures.
  • Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-year relevant demonstrated experience.
  • Experience in logistics with a life science company is desired.

Working Conditions:

Works in a warehouse environment under various temperatures including room temperature (59–86 degrees F), cold-room (36-46 degrees F), and/or freezer-room (0 – negative 10° F). Temperatures can vary outside of these ranges. Performs work of a highly repetitive nature. Will walk, stand, reach, and lift up to 25 lbs. on a continuous basis. Will routinely push and pull up to 25 lbs. May occasionally sit, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 lbs. May handle “packaged” hazardous materials. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be willing to work as an emergency response team member on a rotational basis.

Pay: From $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
