The Human Resources and Payroll Manager ensures that all human resources and payroll operations are carried on smoothly and effectively including developing human resources strategies and processing semi monthly payrolls. This position also advises senior leadership on human resources compliance issues. This position also assists in fulfilling general finance department duties when needed. The goal is to ensure that all human resources needs of the company are being met and are aligned with our mission statement and core values.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Human Resources and Payroll Manager ensures that all human resources and payroll operations are carried on smoothly and effectively including developing human resources strategies and processing semi monthly payrolls. This position also advises senior leadership on human resources compliance issues. This position also assists in fulfilling general finance department duties when needed. The goal is to ensure that all human resources needs of the company are being met and are aligned with our mission statement and core values.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES
- Coordinate the recruitment of new hires into the company including job postings, managing online recruitment tools, screening applicants, coordinating on site interviews and making formal offers.
- Work alongside the Controller to process semi-monthly payrolls and see that pay and deductions are processed correctly.
- Evaluate and coordinate all employee benefits including all health benefits, 401K, time off policies and worker’s compensation ensuring that the company is accurately targeting benefits that are important to our workforce. Work alongside our broker to identify new benefits that would be meaningful.
- Oversee employee performance including training and development, performance evaluation and performance improvement plans by both creating a system for evaluation and educating supervisors in good evaluation techniques.
- Structure a robust onboarding experience for our new hires assuring orientation and training are accomplished in timely manner.
- Keep up to date with compliance and policy updates and make appropriate policy recommendations to leadership. Update employee handbook regularly.
- Assist with compliance reporting, creating reports and submitting as needed.
- Monitor adherence to internal policies and legal standards.
- Serve as the point of contact for employment relations including coordination of conflict resolution related to employment issues.
- Deal with grievances and violations including imposing disciplinary action when required.
- Anticipate and work with leadership to resolve litigation risks.
- Maintain employee files and appropriate documentation.
Job Qualifications:
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent recommended.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Human Resources.
- Proven experience in a human resources field.
- Previous payroll experience required.
- Knowledge of benefits administration
- Full understanding of the way an organization operates to meet its objectives
- Excellent knowledge of employment legislation and regulations
- Thorough knowledge of human resource management principles and best practices
- A business acumen partnered with attention to relationships
- Knowledge of data analysis and reporting
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Diligent and firm with high ethical standards
- Energetic with a positive attitude that is conscientious, enthusiastic, articulate, and possesses a professional attitude to handle a fast-paced work environment.
- Interact professionally with other employees and vendors and work effectively as a team member.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.

- Position is on-site with ability to work remotely occasionally.
