Position: Test and Repairs Associate

Hours: Full-time, non-exempt position; 40-hour standard work week on-site; overtime occasionally required

Position Summary:

The Test and Repairs Associate shall be responsible for test and repair of Setcom electro-mechanical various products with the use of test tools which include but are not limited to DVMs, oscilloscopes, ACrms Volt meters. Main responsibilities comprising this role are (1) receiving, evaluating and reviewing incoming repairs, (2) testing completed production work orders and repairs, (3) communicating with customers as needed for troubleshooting a problem with equipment sent in for repair. (4) technical support backup and assistance

Qualifications:

§ Ability to create, read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.

§ Capable of applying principles and theories of electronics and electrical circuitry to real world problems.

§ Ability to hand solder and use hand tools.

§ 1-2 years electronics/ technician experience preferred.

§ Associates degree in the field of electronics, equivalent field student or equivalent experience preferred

Job Description:

§ Testing completed production work orders and repairs with the use of test tools which include but are not limited to DVMs, oscilloscopes, ACrms Volt meters.

§ Troubleshoot problems with Setcom products with the use of test tools and schematics and communicate problems found through proper channels and or directly with customers ( when related to customers repairs)

§ Inspect Setcom products for cosmetic defects as well as construction errors.

§ Read and interpret bills of materials and schematics of products and communicate discrepancies through proper channels.

§ Maintain orderly work area.

§ Responsible for receiving incoming repairs, appropriately categorize warranty and non-warranty repairs, review any associated paperwork

§ Evaluate incoming repairs methodically and accurately

§ Responsible to process the repair information into case records through CRM/ ERP computerized systems

§ Perform other production and engineering-related tasks as requested by management.

§ Hand solder wire to wire, and wire to cup operations as directed by schematic.

§ Build test interface cables as needed to test Setcom products.

§ Receive and response to customers calls related to technical needs

Interests / Aptitude:

§ Small electronic device interest (transistor radios, audio amplifiers).

§ Self-motivated, able to complete tasks independently.

§ Naturally methodical, with a strong attention to detail and quality of work

§ Mechanical aptitude helpful.

§ Customer oriented and collaborative approach both inbound and outbound with good communication skills, pleasant manner and positive outlook
