As the SALES ENGINEER / AUTOMATION SPECIALIST, you will be the technical liaison between equipment manufacturers end users supporting the day-to-day activities You will be tasked with being the resource for the automation piece of the business, supporting the customer as the point of contact, PLC, Software and network, VFDs, & motion control products. You’ll also provide marketing and commercial leadership for sales growth.
Ideally, we are looking for a bachelor’s degree in a technical field with at least 5 years of automation equipment applications in industrial manufacturing settings. We will seriously consider an associate’s degree with great applicable experience.
As the Sales Engineer / Automation Specialist, you’ll also be:
- Be the Subject Matter Expert on the application of our products
- Handling technical questions for assigned products, PLCs, VFDs, Software, and networks
- Highlighting benefits of automation equipment and how to apply them
- Creating "ations & give presentations to the end users
- Market the benefits of a secure network backbone and infrastructure
- Have basic knowledge and understanding of Panel Design, PLC’s, SCADA design/programming and Intelligent Motor Control
- Communicate product issues to manufacturers for customer resolution
- Develop competency programs for sales
- Be able to articulate expertise in the automation space both commercially and technically
- Implement marketing & promotional programs and product launches for automation equipment
Minimum requirements for this Sales Engineer / Automation Specialist position:
- At least 5 years of sales engineering experience of automation equipment in industrial and / or manufacturing settings
- Working knowledge of control systems, networks, motor controls
- Excellent communications skills both written & verbal
- Excellent problem solving, organizational skills with a sense of urgency to present solutions
- Ability to influence, support & guide team members when needed
