FSLA Status: Full-time/Exempt

Location: Tustin, CA (Hybrid)

Relocating HQ Mid-2024: Newport Beach, CA (Hybrid)

Travel: Up to 10% of domestic travel

Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000 annually

Scope of the Role

The Associate Channel Category Manager executes sales and marketing strategies and initiatives across Amazon, Walmart, Target and other online retail sites according to planned demand forecasts and desired margin level, in line with the category’s overall selling strategy. Owning a portion of the category within an assigned product vertical, the Associate Channel Category Manager monitors competitive sellers, products and market trends while maintaining planned pricing and sales actions. This position may also participate in category-oriented communications with retail partners to push initiatives and/or identify additional sales and marketing opportunities.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of learning and managing an assigned product category or categories within the BCP catalog.
  • Collaborate with senior management for maintaining business plans for specific product categories, focusing on target market share and sales rankings in relevant markets.
  • Support the maintenance of 12–15-month sales and pricing forecasts for assigned products within our demand planning model. This involves analyzing current sales data, competitor listings, and market trends.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for product listings and sales rankings across various selling channels.
  • Monitor sales channels, key competitive listings, and key promotional marketing events to identify maximize opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Execute planned catalog pricing, including everyday pricing + authorized promotional pricing and periodic price drops.
  • Participate in discussions related to product content strategy within the category team, based on market and competitive research.
  • Contribute ideas for cross-selling strategies and identify relevant products for such strategies.
  • Assist in preparing data and selling points for product-oriented sales pitches, supporting management in influencing merchandising placements across our network of selling partners.
  • Provide product insights to the advertising team for campaign planning, including seasonal trends, product performance, and inventory status.
  • Analyze the performance of advertising campaigns in relation to Gross Merchandise Value (GMV), Advertising Cost of Sales (ACOS), and Return on Advertising Spend (ROAS).
  • Build and nurture relationships with our marketplace partners, where applicable, to support merchandising and promotional efforts.
  • Generate keyword reports for catalog listings, both new and existing, using relevant search term tools.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance processes and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Marketing, E-commerce, Business-related field preferred or relevant work experience
  • 1-3 years of digital business experience in a retail, sales, or marketing capacity or equivalent study course work.
  • Some experience with external sales communication and/or account management or persuasive communications preferred
  • General knowledge of ecommerce and online marketplace retail models
  • Detail oriented and passionate about competing within a constantly evolving environment
  • Motivated, persistent self-starter who is results-driven and highly analytical
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel
