Salary: $48,000.00

We are seeking a well-connected, highly energetic, emotionally insightful, and intellectually courageous person to drive growth. With exceptional relationship building skills, this leader will discover and co-create with donors, both individuals and organizations, strong relationships based around a shared passion for the mission of Circle of Care.  The Engagement Manager is responsible for the ongoing experience of each person or organization you cultivate and onboard to donor status. We strive for deeply engaged donors that continue on as donors for a long time.


POSITION SUMMARY

The Engagement Manager is responsible to increase revenue and grow the friending and funding base of Circle of Care, with a particular focus on faith-based and private fundraising. The Engagement Manager will be a creative individual responsible to the Vice President of Development and collaborating with the Director of Strategic Communications to design, articulate and implement strategic actions to drive philanthropic resource growth, including:

  • Sustaining and expanding current donations;
  • Attracting/acquiring new donors;
  • Improving traditional methods and approaches;
  • Introducing/improving the use of technology in non-traditional approaches; 
  • Developing institutional strength (reputation, resources, and relationships) to sustain funding for the mandate and distinctive approaches of Circle of Care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Engagement

  • Maintain high profiles in Oklahoma church partnerships by securing speaking and thought-leadership opportunities for CEO and Development and Program staff,
  • Find new donors and friends for Circle of Care. 
  • Lead identification, solicitation, design, and implementation for new and diverse funding sources from a specific geographic region of Oklahoma (east or west). 
  • Forge closer relationships with new generations of philanthropists, both geographically and digitally, to grow current organizational support.
  • Cultivate and maintain key long-term relationships with donors, prospects and friends.
  • Maintain/improve donor database with detailed call reports and automated reports to ensure relevant tracking of outcomes.
  • Facilitate connections and introduce donors to the amazing people at Circle of Care – build community that promotes deep connection, networked problem-solving, and personal meaning. 
  • Improve the ability of staff and clients on the ground to tell their stories directly – with good collaboration with partners, volunteers with expertise.
  • Help establish Donor Engagement Process language across Circle of Care to understand donor discovery, identification, qualification, cultivation, negotiation, solicitation and stewardship. 

Major Gifts

Work with the CEO and VP of Development to plan and successfully execute high-level solicitations from major donors.

Telling our Story

Craft and shape Circle of Care stories to share with the outside world in close cooperation with communications staff for the development of all external communications. Collaborate on a marketing strategy to build brand-awareness through a creative, cost-effective plan to increase Circle of Care brand warmth with new prospects, organizations and influencers within assigned geographic area.

SKILLS and ABILITIES

To succeed in this role, you must have expertise and experience in the following: clear and articulate communicator in person, in writing, and online; skillful and diligent fundraiser with ability to cultivate and acquire major gifts; effective prospector, able to find new networks for potential funding.

  • Working with and appreciating diverse religious orientations and traditions
  • You come with a network of strong and effective relationships in the private sector
  • Computer systems understanding: Microsoft office suite, CRM experience a plus. Willingness to use technology to enable geographically dispersed constituents to coordinate fundraising activities; experience leveraging fundraising databases and support systems for donor segmentation, research and volunteer management.
  • Experience in sales and/or fundraising with exemplified ability to close gifts.
  • Experienced networker with extensive relationships.
  • Willingness & ability to travel within Oklahoma, at least 50% time, depending on geographic location.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Bachelors degree preferred; significant work experience can substitute for degree.
  • Two plus years of experience in sales or fundraising required.
  • Pass a thorough background check; Department of transportation check, pre-employment physical, and drug test as required by the Department of Human Services.
  • Possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License and a good driving record.
  • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
