Multi-site Retailer has an immediate opportunity for a person seeking to become a Category Manager who has prior purchasing, sales and/or marketing experience.
Must enjoy negotiations, working with people and be goal oriented.
Responsible for advertising sales, new product selection, promotional and merchandising programs.
Successful candidate will manage the complete purchasing and inventory control function for several product categories. One to three years relevant work history required (purchasing or sales).
Requirements:
• Able to manage multiple tasks in a high paced environment
• Organized
• Has ability to build strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers and brokers
• Strong communication skills via phone, email and face to face
• Ability to learn and understand product categories and characteristics
• Interest or familiarity with nutrition or natural products a plus
