In the role as Human Resources Manager, you will help our team bring the next round of stories to life on the United Center campus.

This Manager role will lead through our values centered on inclusivity, service, leadership, and community and help propel our HR department efforts to the next level. Not only will you provide forward-thinking support for our organizational goals, but you will also help support the HR department in multiple functions.


RESPONSIBILITIES – WHAT YOU’LL DO

We have a small but effective team, and each member plays an important role in the success of the department. This role will have the opportunity to play a key role in the talent acquisition and training/development efforts for the organization while directly supporting the Director of Human Resources.


This HR Manager role is crucial because in addition to the role specific goals, you will also support and administer day-to-day operations, similar to an HR Generalist.


Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

  • Actively source candidates and build talent relationships through a variety of channels.
  • Anticipate growth to maintain an ongoing pipeline of candidates- at all levels.
  • Create talent programs and coordinate succession planning and career development.
  • Develop a strategy to utilize our LMS system and facilitate training with career curriculum for all levels of our team (i.e. Leadership, Compliance, etc.)
  • Complete performance review training with managers and lead the performance review initiative in HRIS system.
  • Measure effectiveness of initiatives by tracking progress, ensuring data accuracy, and providing timely updates
  • Position yourself as a strategic partner by providing leadership on talent strategy for key roles.
  • Assist with the administration of the day-to-day operations.
  • Adhere to our Hybrid schedule and support the UC team on-property.
  • Provide ongoing on-property support for all team members.
  • Conduct employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed.
  • Effectively communicate with all team members and help coach managers in enforcing policies in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Be active in and help lead our DEIB initiatives.
  • Assist with planning and participating in special team member events.
  • Manage employee personnel files while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS – WHAT YOU NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Human Resources
  • 2+ years’ experience in training and or talent acquisition is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficient computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook)
  • Proficiency with ADP’s HRIS system is preferred.
