Bishop & Company is seeking a Merchant Services Representative for a financial organization in Honolulu, HI. Merchant Services Representative

Job Duties:

• Meets customer service standards and goals to ensure clients receive an outstanding level of service, nurtures relationships to benefit the clients and the Bank.
• Actively performs outbound calls to existing customers.
• Assist customers thru the migration of their current merchant services terminal and/or application to a new vendor.
• Customer interaction will include providing basic information and education to the customer, setting up appointments for equipment setup over the phone or in person and troubleshooting, if necessary.
• Installs, services, and trains merchants on proper card acceptance procedure, new acceptance solutions offerings, new hardware development and software or virtual acceptance solutions.
• Assists in trouble shooting equipment problems and provides guidance in servicing merchants.
• Participates in marketing programs with the Sales Department to increase sales/referrals of our products.
• Analyzes and answers requests on rejected payments, merchant pricing, POS compatibility, chargeback prevention, and timely deposits of merchant’s batches.
• Identifies and cures rejected batches and re-processing of transactions.
• Provides specific batch information on transaction amounts, card numbers, and expiration dates.
• Manages documentation of unique requirements for high profile customers.
• Troubleshoots terminal problems and probes for information to identify source of problem.
• Provide resolution.
• Programs and tests replacement terminals.
• Provides assistance and training for merchants on the terminal operational functions and features.
• Prepares, assembles, and tests imprinter plates to ensure print quality.

Required skills:

• Associate degree in Business, Liberal Arts, or similar field, or equivalent work experience in merchant services and/or business services.
• 1 year of merchant services experience or retail experience in processing credit card transactions.
• 1 year of Customer Service experience.
• Strong technical background, experience within technical support/help desk preferred
• Internal interaction with diverse levels of employees and management.
• External interaction with diverse customers, business owners, executives, sales clerks, accounting staff, and vendors.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Possess strong oral and written communication skills for presentations, written correspondence, and proposals.
• Possess effective interpersonal skills and organizational skills to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Able to work within strict deadlines.
• Able to work with confidential information and exercise sound judgment.
• Able to perform basic mathematical problems and analysis essential.
• Able to identify causes of problems, troubleshoot, and propose solutions.
• Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, and Excel).
• Ability to use a 10-key calculator helpful.

• Job Type: Temporary Opportunity
• Pay: $25/hr
• Location: Honolulu, HI 96819
• Parking: Provided on site (might be required to travel to the different store merchants to install or troubleshoot the point of sales systems.)
• Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week), Monday – Friday
