Business Analyst (Direct Hire)

AE Business Solutions is looking for a Business Analyst for a Direct Hire position in Madison, Wi.

Client is seeking a dynamic and collaborative problem solver to join our Information Technology group as a Business Analyst, in our Madison office. The successful candidate will apply their unique skills to support the people, processes, and technology critical to our organization’s success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
This is a professional level class responsible for performing routine to complex business analysis activities on small to medium scale projects. In this role, they will apply industry recognized business analysis skills and actively support and collaborate with the members of their project and functional teams.

Specific Responsibilities of this position include:

• Serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical departments and build relationships with stakeholders using the appropriate level of detail through professional communication. Evaluate the needs of an organization through the elicitation of business, functional, and non-functional requirements. Outline and recommend strategic solutions through analysis producing project requirement documentation and estimation (e.g. business requirements, process modeling, user stories, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals, UAT plan);

• Participate in multiple projects by completing and updating project documentation; determining daily priorities; ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones; following proper escalation paths; and managing customer and supplier relationships;

• Collaborate with team members and peers; articulating ideas and viewpoints to management, senior management, peers, and others; and holding self and team accountable for results;

• Act as a natural champion of process improvement. Identify, create and facilitate process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis and design; focusing on quality improvement and data management; ensuring data is reliable and valid; developing process improvements or re-engineering and recommending elimination; integrating new systems and processes with existing ones; and partnering with internal and external customers to ensure systems provided meet the long-term business strategies;

• Assist with and test implemented solutions to include user experience and usability to ensure data transfer collection, quality and reporting are working appropriately down to the business level to ensure business team member and provider experience is appropriate;

• Collaborate closely with developers to implement the requirements, provide necessary guidance to testers during QA process;

• Maintain confidentiality as it pertains to customer information, employee information, or any other information obtained that has been labeled as confidential in nature;

• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge required for this position includes:
• Elicitation, validation, and analysis of requirements;
• Development and execution of test plans;
• Proficient in problem-solving;
• Proficient in process improvement and quality assurance;
• Critical thinking at a strategic level;
• Understanding of Project Management fundamentals.

Skills required for this position include:
• Ability to perform data analysis by writing SQL queries;
• Experience developing process flows using flow chart methods such as Business Process Model Notation;
• Expert-level proficiency in report development and data visualizations;
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills;
• Skilled in leadership and facilitation;
• Strong verbal communication skills. Able to communicate effectively to large groups, to technical and non-technical teams, and to all levels of the organization;
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, to take the initiative, and drive progress through project work;
• Proficient in the transcription of technical and training documentation including diagramming;
• Understand and can interpret Entity Relationship Diagrams

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field and 3+ years performing Business Analysis preferably with experience using Agile; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
CCBA or equivalent qualified training preferred.
