Job description

WHO WE ARE

GridUnity is the industry leader in interconnection life cycle management, delivering cutting-edge software solutions that eliminate bottlenecks in the interconnection process and accelerate the transition to a more affordable, sustainable, and resilient energy future.

Our Mission

We unite all grid interconnection stakeholders on a single platform that converts centralized data into actionable intelligence and accelerates the transition to a reliable, sustainable, and cost-efficient electric grid.

GridUnity is a trusted partner to leading utilities, grid operators, and policymakers. Our technology solutions tackle the interconnection queue backlog by significantly reducing processing times. Whether cutting transmission interconnection timelines from years to months or enabling distribution applications to be processed within a day, we help accelerate energy projects at every scale.

Our Vision
Energizing the planet with a faster, smarter, and more sustainable grid.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Technical Solutions Analyst, you will work directly with utilities and energy innovators to modernize the grid. This customer-facing role connects business needs to the product roadmap and engineering delivery. You will lead discovery, design solutions, support integrations, and guide customers through implementation so they reach value quickly.

This position will report to the VP, Customer Experience.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Discovery & Requirements
  • Understand each customer’s workflows, KPIs, and constraints.

  • Translate business needs into clear, testable requirements.

  • Distinguish between regulatory requirements, customer must-haves, and nice-to-haves.

  • Develop a detailed knowledge of our product to map requirements to existing features, upcoming roadmap items, and needed customizations.

Value Translation
  • Explain the value of solutions in terms of data quality, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

Integrations & Configuration
  • Define how GridUnity and customer systems exchange data.

  • Map fields, identify transformations, and validate data.

  • Guide configuration of GridUnity products and ensure customer IT environments are ready.

Implementation Support
  • Partner with Project Managers and the CX team to plan and run User Acceptance Testing.

  • Track issues, support defect triage, and manage readiness checklists.

  • Coordinate cutover activities with customers and internal teams.

Documentation
  • Work with BAs to document requirements and compare them to market best practices and product capabilities.

  • Create clear source-to-target data mappings, confirm data ownership and quality rules, and review historical data to reduce risk.

  • Identify future integration opportunities.

Commercial Support
  • Contribute to Statements of Work and scoping workshops.

  • Act as the technical liaison during sales and early project phases.

Customer Enablement
  • Support or deliver product demos and training.
Ensure clean handoffs to customer administrators and support teams.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Foundational understanding of the U.S. transmission interconnection ecosystem.

  • 3–6+ years in a customer-facing solutions role (Solutions/Business Analyst, Solutions Engineer, Implementation Consultant).

  • Strong skills in requirements gathering, process modeling (BPMN/UML or similar), gap analysis, and acceptance criteria.

  • Experience with systems integration concepts: REST APIs, JSON/CSV, authentication, data mapping, and basic ETL.

  • Ability to read payloads, propose data mappings, and identify edge cases.

  • Proficiency in SQL for data validation and test queries.

  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders and business context to engineers.

  • Experience supporting project execution: issue tracking, risk management, test planning, and tools like Jira/Confluence.

  • Flexible and proactive mindset suited to a scaling B2B SaaS environment.

  • Strong sense of ownership and organized documentation habits.

  • Familiarity with implementation methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Waterfall, etc.).

WHAT WILL SET YOU APART

  • Experience in a startup, scaling SaaS company, or similarly dynamic environment.

  • GIS, data pipelines, or iPaaS tools.

  • Security and compliance awareness (PII, audit trails, RBAC; CII familiarity is a plus).

  • Comfort with visualization/prototyping tools like Figma, Lucid, or Draw.io.

  • Light scripting (Python) for data checks or quick transformations.

  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT

  • Travel: ~10–20 percent for onsite discovery, testing, or launches.

COLLABORATION ACROSS GRIDUNITY

  • Customers & Partners: Lead discovery, integration planning, and UAT; serve as a steady technical point of contact through go-live.

  • Customer Experience: Work with PMs and BAs to align customer requirements with the product roadmap and project plan.

  • Product Management: Provide requirement gaps, market insights, and customer needs.

  • Engineering: Deliver clear requirements, edge cases, and data contracts; validate builds against acceptance criteria.

  • Go-to-Market: Support SOWs, estimates, demos, and knowledge transfer to Customer Success and Support.

SUCCESS CRITERIA

  • Clear linkage from requirements → shipped capability → measurable customer outcomes.

  • On-time integrations with clean data contracts and minimal post-launch defects.

  • High customer satisfaction (post-UAT/NPS) and strong internal partner feedback.

  • Reusable documentation, mappings, and playbooks that shorten future implementations.

GROWTH PATH

This role can grow into Implementation Architect or Sales Engineer, depending on interests and strengths.

OUR CULTURE

We are a lean, fast-moving team that values bold thinking, reliability, and continuous learning. We operate with radical transparency, embrace scrappiness, and build solutions that anticipate customer needs. We also believe work should be fun and fulfilling — what we call “funfillment.”

The right candidate is energized by working in a scaling, mission-driven company where they can shape processes, wear multiple hats, and grow alongside the business.

BENEFITS/PERKS

  • Competitive compensation packages that recognize your expertise and contributions

  • Remote-first culture that provides flexibility and balance

  • Professional development opportunities, including training, mentorship, and career pathing

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance starting day one

  • Short- and long-term disability and basic life insurance at no cost to you

  • 401(k) plan with a 4% match to help secure your future

  • Flexible PTO and a supportive work culture that values balance

  • Mission-driven work with the opportunity to make a significant impact in the energy sector

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT

This position may involve access to data and systems subject to U.S. critical infrastructure protection regulations. Accordingly, this role is restricted to individuals who qualify as “U.S. persons,” defined by federal law as U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents (green card holders), asylees, or refugees.
