AVP- RESIDENTIAL MORTGAGE OPERATIONS

ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT - RESIDENTIAL MORTGAGE OPERATIONS

Full-time, Direct-Hire

Responsible for coordinating the processing, underwriting and closing operations of the Mortgage Origination Department, reporting directly to the Vice President / Director of the Residential Mortgage Department and the AVP will be the designated successor to that position. The bank is one of the most respected, long-established institutions in northern New Jersey - and one of the fasted growing banks in the northern/north-central area of New Jersey,

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensures loan applications are processed, underwritten and closed in compliance with regulatory and Bank policies.
2. Monitors production pipeline with staff on a weekly basis for quality, accuracy and consistent turnaround time.
3. Assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry and internal bank requirements.
4. Interacts and troubleshoots processing, underwriting, pre-closing and closing issues/problems with department staff, correspondent lenders, borrowers, appraisers and attorneys in order to expedite loan approvals and closings.
5. Assists in the evaluation and enhancement of the performance and development of personnel.
6. Makes recommendations to Vice President regarding ongoing training and continuing of staff.

7. Collaborates with VP, Mortgage Originations in researching, developing and preparing the department's annual operating budget.
8. Oversee and manage with other departments the HMDA/LAR process. Ensures that all loan files are upgraded with the proper data for monthly LAR tracking and year-end HMDA reporting.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:
College Degree or equivalent related business experience.

Experience:
Minimum of 5 years residential lending originations in a retail and/or wholesale environment.
Knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC and other mortgage lending guidelines.
Working knowledge of secondary market (agency and investors) procedures/operations for residential lending.
Thorough knowledge of compliance regulations and their applicability.
LOS technical and compliance knowledge is required.
Proficiency with various software programs including word processing and spreadsheet applications required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service skills.

Must be advanced in Excel.
