Position Summary:

The Documentation Analyst is the primary person responsible for processing new product NPO’s, creating purchased and manufactured part numbers, and setting up and revising BOM’s. This employee will interact with many departments including Marketing, Engineering, and Production.

Responsibilities:

  • Submit Product Component Requests for all projects as needed for purchased components, finished goods, packaging, and labels.
  • Complete and submit “Request for Quote” (RFQ’s) for new colors, obtain sample chips and material, and work with Purchasing, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and QA through the colorant approval process.
  • Create and submit New Product Outlines as directed by supervisor.
  • Initiate ECN’s and provide required documentation for any design engineering related changes and/or packaging changes to products.
  • Create and approve Step 1 of most new product Bill of Materials using Lotus Workflow system.
  • This includes but is not limited to: requesting manufactured, purchased, and expensed part numbers for all items in the BOM.
  • Perform data entry as needed for various workflow forms.
  • Assemble T-O samples and provide feedback to the Design Engineer and Technical Illustrator.
  • Run TOPS reports and maintain MaxLoad database for new products.
  • Maintain the instruction manuals on the Suncast website.
  • Oversee the Instruction Manual printer approvals and internal Instruction Manual receipt approvals.
  • Assist with completion of 2D drawings for parts and assemblies using the computer based engineering program (currently using Solidworks).
  • Assist with development and update of instruction manuals (currently using Adobe InDesign and Illustrator).
  • Periodically review Contact Center database to look for trends with product defects in the field and review findings with the Engineering Director.
  • Complete Web BOM part selection, verify dimensions and weights, and create exploded view of parts to publish on Suncast.com for new items.
  • Maintain replacement parts and instruction manuals on Suncast.com.
  • Support and comply with all Suncast safety policies, quality standards, and housekeeping practices.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited community or technical college preferred.
  • Coursework in CAD and ability to learn and use basic functions of SolidWorks preferred.
  • Familiarity in publishing software and programs, specifically Adobe Creative Suite, preferred.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.

The Anticipated Pay Range for This Position:  $60K-75K annually
