Job Description

Assist food and beverage outlet manager with the entire operation and financial aspect of the restaurant by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Duties

  • Compliance with all CFI policies and procedures
  • Represents Westgate Resorts in a professional manner at all times
  • Manage, mentor, train and direct all front of the house staff during assigned shifts.
  • Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. 
  • Coordinate and enforce program procedures.
  • Prepare dining room staff by introducing menus and teaching food presentation techniques, conducting food, beer and wine tasting, and giving instruction in etiquette and serving techniques.
  • Schedule patrons by recording reservations and arrangements for special parties.
  • Welcome patrons by exchanging pleasantries, escorting them to dining area, seating them, presenting and introducing menus and announcing waitperson's name. 
  • Maintain dining room ambiance by inspecting and monitoring serving stations, table lines, floors, eating, lighting and music.
  • Assist Restaurant Manager in assuring high guest satisfaction.
  • Decrease service complaints and increase sales.
  • Create a high energy atmosphere for guests to enjoy when dining in the restaurant.
  • Protect dining room assets by adhering to security policies and procedures.
  • Observe and record patron reactions to meals, beverages, and restaurant environment.
  • Ensure adherence to beverage controls per state, company and department policies.
  • Respond to guest inquiries, complaints in a professional and urgent manner.
  • Attend and participate in required department manager meetings
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Direct supervises team members in the location. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training and coaching team members; planning, assigning and directing work; assisting in appraising performance; rewarding team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Food Handlers Certification required within 30 days of Hire, must be maintained on a current/valid status. Must successfully attend Company Mandatory Training programs. Must attend and complete mandatory State required continuing HACCP training.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, and hear. In addition, the employee is occasionally required to taste and smell. The team member frequently is required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
