Villa Restaurant Group - Quick service restaurants (Villa Italian Kitchen, South Philly Cheesesteaks and Fries, Green Leaf's and Bananas, Mo' Burger, Far East, Asian Chao, Tony + Benny's etc.) and 40North full service restaurants (Piattino, Office Tavern Grill, NOM Mexican Table + Tequila Bar, Steelworks Wind Creek Casino, Blackhorse Tavern & Pub and Town Bar & Kitchen) is a multi-brand, multi-concept global restaurant group specializing in full service restaurants, quick serve restaurants with corporate and franchise operations.

SUMMARY DUTIES

The General Manager/QSR is responsible for the daily operations of their assigned store. This includes various duties such as operation excellence, Guest satisfaction, Team Member relations, financials, etc. The role of the General Manager/ QSR is crucial to the success of the store’s profitability and growth. The following is a guideline/job description that will guarantee the success of the General Manager/ QSR. The General Manager / QSR is consistently focused on teamwork, willing to go above and beyond to get the job done.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The General Manager / QSR is responsible for their assigned restaurant including recruiting, Team Member Development, Guest service, safety, and maintaining all restaurant operational standards.
  • Create the environment where all Team Members are engaged, trained and are consistently providing the exceptional Guest Service.
  • Responsible for scheduling and assigning duties on a regular basis to all Team Members, utilizing HOT SCHEDULES / FOURTH technology and MICROS POS.
  • Continually evaluate performance of all Team Members, and conduct timely performance appraisals, coaching for development, and creating the environment where Team Members feel comfortable asking questions and expressing their opinion
  • Coach and hold accountable employees who are not meeting company policies and/or standards
  • Uphold all Federal/State laws/regulations, Port Authority and company standards/procedures
  • Ensure that all quality and health/safety requirements are met and in compliance with Federal, State, & Local standards and Company, OSHA and Health Department standards
  • Comply with VRG Youth Worker Employment Policies
  • Create and maintain a “Safety First” environment and execute Safety Captain Program flawlessly
  • Oversee all culinary functions and operations working closely with the Food / Beverage Manager
  • Participate in the preparation of operating budget. Keep operating costs within the budget while maintaining quality and service/company standards
  • Create, implement, maintain strategy designed to grow sales and improve business
  • Utilize marketing promotions, outside sales, partnering with mall management and developing relationships with mall vendors in an effort to increase sales and brand awareness.
  • Responsible for the receipt, safekeeping, daily deposit, disbursement and accountability of all restaurant funds
  • Develop and maintain correct stock levels, weekly inventories, inspecting deliveries for accuracy
  • Maintain VRG standards and metrics using HOT SCHEDULES. FOURTH, MICROS, PAYCOM, R365, and XTRACHEF.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four year college degree preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and able to successfully complete Port Authority badging process
  • Minimum 3 years Restaurant Experience, preferably in an airport environment with 2 years in Managerial Position
  • Strong leadership skills: performance management, conflict resolution, coaching, prioritization
  • Intermediate to expert level MS Office skills
  • Previous experience in internet-based learning solutions and learning management systems
  • Have incredible energy and enthusiasm when you work being a good leader and role model
  • Be relentless in your pursuit of excellence and the solution to a problem and not the cause
  • Partner with Corporate on promotions, memos, pricing updates, etc. Follow through on all requests.
  • Driver’s License and reliable transportation is required

TRAVEL

  • Ability to travel 10% of the time locally for this position as needed for meetings.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • This position is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and talk to or hear. Regular lifting and/or moving up to 10lbs - 50lbs is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • When traveling, will be able to comfortably move through airports and public transportation stations, transporting luggage, walking, sitting and standing for extended periods of time
  • When visiting restaurants, this position will be expected to work in a restaurant environment and adhere to safety procedures (may include malls, shopping, airports and other high traffic venues)
