Ohio Department of Public Safety - Ohio State Highway Patrol
Report In Location - 1970 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223
Work Day and Hours - Work Days and Hours will vary between Monday - Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM depending on student's schedule

This is an ongoing internship located in Columbus, OH.  The selected candidate will ideally be able to work throughout the school year and summer, for an average of 20 hours per week or less (with flexibility during the school semesters given class schedule and course load).

The pay rate for a college intern is based upon the students' academic status:
   Undergraduate student rate of pay - $16.93 per hour
   Graduate student rate of pay - $20.59 per hour

What You'll Do as a College Intern:
   Assist staff during assessment center (i.e. escort candidates to scenarios, handle questions).
   Assist with coordinating and scheduling courses for remainder of 2026.
   Add courses and monitor the training campus and Division Website.
   Assist with creating or updating interviews, review and verify all completed packets.
   Maintain database on status of all positions.
   Assist in scheduling and proctoring examinations.
   Other duties as assigned.

   Criminal Justice
   Human Resources
   Psychology
 

To be eligible for an internship opportunity at the Ohio Department of Public Safety, an applicant must:
   Be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university.
   Be in good standing with the college/university.
   Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.
   Be enrolled in at least one course.
   Be pursuing a degree or finishing a degree.
