Overview

The HR Coordinator, Recruitment provides support to all operational aspects of the New York Medical College and Touro College University System (TCUS) employment processes. The HR Coordinator, Recruitment is key to the TCUS Human Resources operation, and the effective integration of HR value-added services with the administrative and academic departments of the College. While the focus is on the overall operations of talent acquisition, the role may also support creation of talent management programs at the direction of the Manager. These include but are not limited to, succession plans, diversity strategies, and employee development and retention programs. Other HR administrative responsibilities and projects may be assigned as well.

Responsibilities

  1. Provides support to all operational aspects of the New York Medical College and Touro College University System (TCUS) employment processes.
  2. Obtain internal approvals and post open positions on the Touro Careers page or other external recruiting websites.
  3. Primary point of contact for hiring managers in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes.
  4. Review submitted applications, resumes, and cover letters in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  5. Assist candidates and managers utilizing the ATS.
  6. Provides operational support for recruitment of open positions, including job posting, external advertising/posting, and offer letters.
  7. Ensures integrity and compliance for all pre-employment processes, including reference and background checks, I-9 verification, and onboarding.
  8. Conduct New Hire Orientation programs and ensure a positive employee experience.
  9. May actively manage full-cycle recruitment for specified open jobs.
  10. Support academic hiring processes and search committees as needed.
  11. Assist in the management of cost-effective relationships with agencies to assist managers in filling temporary and contingent positions.
  12. Works closely with HR staff in other regions to share operational best practices.
  13. Provide assistance on critical needs and coordinate on national-level initiatives.
  14. Provides operational support for organizational development programs, which may include workforce planning, talent management, succession planning, retention, and employee engagement (including surveys and action plans).
  15. Participate in or lead high visibility HR process/technology improvement projects related to recruitment, hiring, and onboarding.
  16. Updating HRIS systems to reflect accurate information of employee profiles, such as timesheet approvers, and employee contact information.
  17. Assisting clients on the origination and submission of Electronic Personnel Action Forms (EPAFs), as needed.
  18. Reviewing, approving, and applying EPAFs, as needed.
  19. Other HR administrative responsibilities and projects as assigned.


Qualifications

Education, Qualifications and Skills

(A) Education requirement:
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work-related experience.

(B) Licenses or certifications: None

(C) Technical/computer skills:
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving skills, and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in communication (written and verbal)
  • Overall business acumen, ethical decision making and relationship management skills
  • Experience with hiring operations and use of Applicant Tracking Systems preferred
  • Experience in higher education
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
  • Experience in HR systems and technology (including Banner)

(D) Prior experience:
  • 1 or more years of Human Resources or similar administrative experience, including internships
