Hotel Maintenance Engineer

Location: Hilton Madison Monona Terrace - Madison, WI
Schedule: Flexible Schedule
Estimated Wage: $20-22/hour

Are you a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in keeping buildings safe, comfortable, and guest-ready? Hilton Madison Monona Terrace is seeking a reliable Hotel Maintenance Technician to support daily hotel operations through preventative maintenance, timely repairs, and attention to detail.

As a member of our engineering team, you will play a vital behind-the-scenes role in delivering exceptional guest experiences. From guest rooms to public spaces and back-of-house areas, your work ensures our hotel remains welcoming, functional, and well-maintained at all times.

What Will You Be Doing?

In this multi-skilled maintenance role, you will help maintain the hotel's physical assets and respond to maintenance needs across the property:

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, and mechanical spaces
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and mechanical systems
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Identify potential maintenance issues and recommend proactive solutions
  • Complete minor repairs such as drywall, painting, fixtures, doors, locks, and furniture
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and inspection documentation
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are clean, safe, and organized
  • Follow all safety procedures and support overall engineering operations

What Will You Bring to the Role?

We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented technician who enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • 3-4 years of general maintenance or repair experience preferred
  • Experience using standard maintenance and repair tools
  • Ability to read simple drawings and specifications
  • Ability to estimate materials needed for repairs
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to recognize early signs of equipment or building issues
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality workmanship
  • Availability to work weekends or holidays preferred
