SUMMARY
As a Plant Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in solving complex operational challenges, supporting capital improvements, and driving engineering solutions that ensure safe, efficient, and compliant plant operations. This is a high-impact role where your expertise directly supports grid reliability and long-term asset health.
This role requires specialized expertise to effectively manage and maintain critical site programs. Welding program experience is essential, and the ability to hold or obtain NDE Level II certification is a key requirement. Additionally, knowledge of plant Chemistry programs would provide significant added value and further strengthen operational reliability. Experience in project management or project management programs will be necessary to function efficiently in this role.
You will:
  • Provide functional and economical engineering solutions to operations and maintenance problems through the improvement and maintenance of plant safety, reliability, efficiency, and regulatory compliance in a responsible and progressive manner. Provides engineered solutions for new plants and retrofit of existing generation facilities. Maintains and improves the operation, reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance of the company's generating resources. Plant maintenance engineering consists of all applicable engineering disciplines.

We're hiring for a position open to both Plant Maintenance Engineer (P2) and Senior Plant Maintenance Engineer (P3) candidates. The level will be determined based on the successful applicant's qualifications, experience, and demonstrated skills during the interview process.
Plant Maintenance Engineer (P2)
Engineering Standards
Maintains currency in state-of-the-art engineering practices and independently applies professional knowledge of engineering processes and standards to assignments/projects. Applies knowledge of engineering solutions to resolve plant operations and maintenance engineering problems. Applies knowledge of the plant and plant control systems and processes. Applies knowledge of codes and standards and applies engineering theories and concepts in expanding professional knowledge of plant operations and maintenance engineering principles.
Engineering Production
Prepares a variety of moderately complex engineering deliverables; leads smaller project teams. Develops maintenance engineering solutions that meet technical requirements, all applicable codes, regulatory requirements and follow sound engineering practice. Contributes substantially to the maintenance of plant design basis documents.
Project Coordination
Assigns tasks and coordinates with other internal/external team members on assigned projects; shares information and provides professional guidance in executing project tasks. Provides complex design, construction, operation, maintenance or testing elements in support of plant maintenance engineering needs; contributes to capital budget and job estimates.
Knowledge Sharing
Shares current knowledge of latest technology and processes; may assist with mentoring, recognition and any corrective actions required. Supports and develops training of other engineers and crews on operations and maintenance practices and requirements.
Senior Plant Maintenance Engineer (P3)
Engineering Standards
Maintains currency in state-of-the-art engineering practices and provides guidance and direction on engineering processes and standards to colleagues when requested. Supports plant improvements with extended knowledge of maintenance engineering principles and local codes and standards. Applies knowledge to investigate, identify and clearly define plant problems and applies knowledge of the plant and plant control systems and processes to determine and deliver engineering improvements on proposed equipment and systems. Provides technical guidance and support to other engineers and contractors.
Engineering Production
Prepares a variety of complex engineering deliverables for larger or multiple projects; coordinates multiple discipline activity. Develops and provides quality assurance reviews of maintenance engineering solutions that meet technical requirements, all applicable codes, regulatory requirements and follow sound engineering practice. Maintains and reviews plant design basis documents.
Project Coordination
Actively coordinates with other internal/external team members on moderately complex projects, including representing the team to interdepartmental and external (regulatory) stakeholders. Plans, develops and coordinates projects with complex design, construction, operation, maintenance or testing elements in support of plant maintenance engineering projects. Provides accurate capital budget and job estimates.
Knowledge Sharing
Serves as a technical specialist and provides consultation/guidance to project teams in a particular practice area; actively fosters knowledge management and provides mentoring; implements resource management strategy. Develops and delivers training of other engineers and crews on operations and maintenance practices and requirements. Provides and coordinates updates on critical safety and reliability topics to operations personnel. Participates in industry-related events for the purposes of benchmarking and learning about best practices.
Education / Experience / Certifications
Education
P2 & P3: Requires a bachelor's degree in any applicable engineering discipline. ABET accredited engineering program or program accredited by an equivalent agency preferred.
Experience
P2: Typically two or more years in engineering.
P3: Typically five or more years in engineering, or four or more years in related field with PE license.
Certifications
P2: Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam a plus; may be required based upon role.
P3: Professional Engineering (PE) license a plus; may be required based upon role.
Valid drivers license required
