Overview

The Retail Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Retail Manager with the day-to-day operations of Company owned retail outlets as well as oversight of on-premise tenants.  Contributes to the business growth and ensures all standards and legal obligations are followed.

Responsibilities
    • Responsible for selecting and purchasing apparel, accessories, wine, spirits, giftware, sundries, snacks, and related retail merchandise in accordance with Purchasing Department procedures and internal controls.
    • Evaluates and selects suppliers based upon Hard Rock International standards, price, quality, availability, and selection of merchandise.
    • Negotiates prices, terms, delivery, quality, and service with retail suppliers.
    • Builds the business by thinking of new ways to help promote new programs that will increase sales and profits.
    • Determines pricing and promotions of retail merchandise.
    • Reviews sales and inventory reports to ensure on-hand inventory and turnover ratios are optimal.
    • Organizes visual merchandise displays to increase foot traffic and sales.
    • Assists management and finance with quarterly retail inventory.
    • Performs as a liaison between Hard Rock and on-premise tenants as it relates to matters of maintenance & company standards.
    • Conducts regularly scheduled meetings with property tenants and performs daily rounds to disseminate property information and discuss operational matters.
    • Continuously provides team members with verbal recognition, direction, and support.
    • Trains and empowers employees to exercise good judgment to make decisions regarding guest service satisfaction by adhering to company training standards.
    • Ensure team members follow safety, sanitation, and security procedures.
    • Monitors/coaches team members on performance, compliance with procedures and workload.
    • Creates and modifies the weekly work schedule to accommodate team members, business volume, or other emerging trends.
    • Assists in store operations as needed.
    • Performs other administrative duties as assigned.

     

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of retail buying, inventory control and merchandising.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years retail experience  
  • Minimum two (2) years high volume management experience
  • Experience in Stratten Warren Retail Software preferred.
  • Proficiency communicating (speaking, reading, and writing) in English, bilingual preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business.
  • GED or High School degree

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in a professional kitchen setting, but there may be times where you will need to be on the Casino Floor or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke and excessive noise.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
