POSITION: Assistant Principal
LOCATION: Georgetown Elementary School
START DATE: 2026-2027 School Year
Certification: Must hold or be eligible for Delaware Certification in School Administration, including a passing score on the School Leaders Licensure Assessment.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Five or more years of successful full-time classroom teaching experience required
  • Prior experience as a School Administrator/Assistant Principal preferred
  • Administration Development Program Graduate preferred
  • Participation in a Teacher Leadership role preferred
  • Special Education Teacher/Coordinator experience preferred
  • Clean Criminal Background Check and Child Protection Registry and TB Clearance required prior to employment

Primary Duties:
  • Assists in the development, implementation, supervision and evaluation of the instructional programs in assigned areas
  • Collaborates with the Principal in coordinating all aspects of the school program and related activities
  • Assumes duties of the principal in his/her absence
  • Maintains appropriate records
  • Assists in the implementation and enforcement of district-wide policies and procedures
  • Provides leadership to staff and students in the maintenance of a safe, clean and orderly school facility
  • Works with the Principal in providing instructional leadership
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Terms of Employment:
Twelve-month yearly work schedule. Salary and working conditions established by the Board of Education.

  • Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Principal
