General Summary of Job Duties

As a Fine Dining Host / Hostess you will greet and seat arriving guests, check to ensure they are having a positive experience, and take guest payments at the register.

Essential Job Function and Duties

Provide fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service to restaurant guests and restaurant staff.
Greet and make welcome each guest entering the restaurant.
Build a rapport with guests while walking them to their tables.
Accommodate our guests, asking if they prefer a table or booth.
Ensure that guest seating is rotated between all service stations.
Highlight with excitement any current wine or other promotion.
Communicate guest needs to staff/management, i.e. celebrating anniversary and/ or birthdays.
Communicate guest complaints and compliments to management.
Evaluate business levels and arranges or cuts the floor appropriately.
Assess any situation that possibly needs immediate upper management attention.
Thank guests and invite them back upon completion of their visit.
Answer telephone to take new reservations and maintain current reservations within procedural guidelines.
Ability to accept performance feedback in a professional manner.
Regular attendance to all scheduled shifts is considered an essential function of the job.
Arriving on-time for all scheduled shifts is considered an essential function of the job.
Other duties as assigned.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, with variable overtime.
Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
