The Opportunity

As a critical member of the Market team, the Market Specialist for Electric and gas utilities will collaborate closely with Integrated Solution Specialists (ISS) to support the development of integrated solution offerings across the Infrastructure Advisory (IA) and Black & Veatch (BV) sector portfolio. This role with leverage integrated solutions expertise as a critical team member for projects and initiatives. Your insights will directly influence solution development, sales enablement, and client engagement strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Market Strategy & Intelligence

  • Support the development of integrated solutions offerings in collaboration with IA solution leaders and market team leads.
  • Individually contribute to integrated solution offering development and value creation.
  • Research and apply market and subject matter expertise to integrated solution engagement and lead such integrated projects / solutions, where applicable.
  • Translate market insights into actionable strategies that inform solution development and positioning.

Go-to-Market Execution

  • Support Integrated Solutions Strategists as needed in driving pursuit strategy and solution value proposition and solution development.
  • Support client account managers (CAMs) and client account partners (CAPs) to facilitate and orchestrate customer solutions, offerings, and partnerships.

Solution Development Support

  • Support the development of a structured approach and process to share external market intelligence among the markets and solutions teams.
  • Work closely with solution execution teams to ensure market needs are reflected in solution design and delivery.
  • Participate in rapid prototyping and testing of new offerings in collaboration with solutions and technical teams.
  • Provide feedback and insights to improve solution relevance and competitiveness.
  • Facilitation and orchestration of integrated solutions opportunities.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop trusting working relationships with internal stakeholders including CAMs, CAPs, sales professionals, and solutions leads.
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders across consulting, engineering, and sales teams.
  • Support external engagement with clients, industry partners, and ecosystem collaborators.
  • Represent the voice of the market in internal forums and planning sessions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting go-to-market strategy or solution development in a technical services environment.
  • Typically 8+ years experience in the electric power or natural gas distribution or utility industry, preferably in management consulting, strategy, or business development role. [MT1] 
  • Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • Certifications related to the area of expertise, where applicable preferred.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities.
  • Work Environment

    • travel up to 50%.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience.

7+ years experience in a business/consulting environment.
