Bell Moving & Storage is hiring an Assistant Operations Manager to support daily operations across dispatch, warehouse coordination, crews, and fleet readiness. You’ll work directly with the GM to keep jobs running smoothly and customers happy — while helping maintain safety, quality, and profitability.
This is a hands-on leadership role with real responsibility and a clear path to growth.
Pay & Compensation
● $24–$29/hour (based on experience)
● Overtime available (during peak season)
● Bonus program tied to Operations Quality + Recruiting (details during interview)
● Payroll: biweekly
What You’ll Do
Dispatch & Scheduling
● Assist with planning and dispatching local and interstate moves
● Coordinate crews, trucks, and equipment for efficient execution
● Communicate updates to crews, office staff, customers, and partner carriers
Warehouse & Facility
● Help supervise warehouse activity and keep the facility organized and inspection-ready
● Support storage tracking, crate handling, and material/equipment controls
● Assist with warehouse organization and shipment security (forklift certification after hire)
Crew & Driver Support
● Help coach movers/drivers/contractors on quality, safety, and customer service
● Assist recruiting efforts and onboarding/processing of new hires and contractors
● Support driver qualification and van line readiness
Fleet & Compliance Support
● Assist with equipment records, inspections, maintenance scheduling, and DOT/PUCO compliance
● Help ensure pre/post-trip inspections are completed and equipment is kept organized
Hands-On Help (As Needed)
● Truck spotting, small pickups/deliveries, jobsite support, and problem-solving when plans change
What We’re Looking For
● Experience in operations, dispatch, logistics, warehouse leadership, or transportation (moving industry preferred)
● Strong communicator who stays calm and organized under pressure
● Comfortable switching between office coordination and warehouse/yard support
● High accountability, reliability, and attention to detail
● Valid driver’s license (clean record preferred)
