Deposit Operations Manager
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Overview:
The Deposit Operations Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of deposit operations, ensuring that processes are efficient, accurate, and compliant with regulatory standards. The Deposit Operations Manager will be responsible for strategic planning, team leadership, and collaboration with other departments to enhance operational effectiveness.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve deposit operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the deposit operations team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
  • Oversee daily deposit operations tasks such as file maintenance, non-member deposit processing, dividend checks, IRA, and processing of Trust and POA accounts
  • Ensure all operations comply with federal and state regulations, maintaining the confidentiality and security of sensitive data
  • Act as a liaison between Deposit Operations and other departments, assessing current and future needs and ensuring proper staffing and resources
  • Research, recommend, and implement new methods, procedures, policies, and services to enhance operational efficiency ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of the departmental budget, ensuring cost effective operations
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the deposit operations team, providing feedback and implementing improvements as necessary
  • Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance, issues, and improvements to senior management
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall goals of the organization
  • Must understand and comply with all required federal and state regulations associated with this position

Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in credit union or banking operations, with 3+ years in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Relevant certifications in banking operations or management are a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Word and Excel; knowledge of DNA and Ascensus preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • In-depth understanding of federal and state regulations related to deposit operations
  • Commitment to providing excellent internal and external member service
  • Ability to apply training principles into practice and expand knowledge of GECU products and services
