Deposit Operations Manager

Location: Pascagoula, MS or Mobile, AL

Full-Time | Exempt

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Deposit Operations Manager to lead our Deposit Operations department. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with all applicable banking laws and regulations, and driving operational excellence. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader who can manage staff, improve processes, and collaborate across departments to enhance products and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the daily functions of the Deposit Operations Department
  • Lead, coach, and develop deposit operations staff, including performance evaluations and training
  • Establish departmental goals, assign responsibilities, and set priorities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and workflows
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state banking regulations, including BSA/OFAC/USA Patriot Act
  • Monitor and maintain internal controls and operational accuracy
  • Prepare and present reports, metrics, and analyses to senior management
  • Balance and review reports to ensure accuracy and proper reconciliation
  • Serve as a resource to branch personnel regarding deposit products and account opening processes
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve products, services, and operational efficiency
  • Represent Deposit Operations in cross-functional meetings, projects, and initiatives
  • Respond to audit, compliance, and examination requests and findings
  • Support bank acquisitions, system conversions, and special projects
  • Ensure service standards are consistently met or exceeded
  • Stay current on regulatory changes and industry best practices
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in retail banking operations and compliance, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong knowledge of deposit products and retail banking operations
  • Working knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interpret regulations, policies, and technical documents
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve complex issues efficiently
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Primarily sedentary, office-based role with standard desk/computer work
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • Regular use of office equipment including computers, printers, and phones
