Job Description

GDIT is seeking an IT Manager to help support our DISA client in the Pentagon. The IT Manager will lead a ten-person operations team providing IT services to monitor, operate, and maintain the Enterprise Management System (EMS). The EMS Architecture supports management of Sensitive but Unclassified, Secret, TS, and SCI networks. EMS team manages the enterprise applications for the networks used to provide network management, discovery, and root cause analysis capabilities for the entire IT infrastructure.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

  • Leadership and Direction:
    • Set the direction for the team, ensuring alignment with Branch Chief goals and organizational objectives.
    • Actively motivates the team, fostering a positive work environment, building morale, and encouraging continuous professional development.
    • Manage the team and oversee the successful completion of all tasks and assigned projects utilizing aKanbanmethodology.
  • Project and Resource Management:
    • Oversee comprehensive resource management, including workload balancing, skill allocation, and capacity planning.
    • Effectively manage these resources and schedules to ensure continuous service availability and timely project delivery without burning out the team.
    • Participate in the development of technical project plans, proposals, reports, and schedules.
    • Plan and prioritize new projects and system upgrades.
  • Customer Engagement and Value Creation:
    • Serve as the primary liaison to the Branch Chief, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
    • Drive the development of new capabilities that create tangible value for the customer.
    • Identify opportunities to improve IT operations and end-user satisfaction, implementing solutions to address those opportunities.

    • Manage and ensure the high availability, configuration, and optimal performance of the following critical enterprise tools:

WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Security Clearance: Active Secret
  • Certification(s): Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Education (ONE of the following): Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience OR Associates Degree with 7 years of experience
  • Experience: 5+ years of related experience in IT project management; At least 3 years of people management experience
  • Technical Skills: 2+ years working in system administration, networks, and infrastructure environments; Understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices; Familiarity with the managed tools (ISE, RSA, Ansible, InfoBlox, etc.).
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to apply systematic problem-solving skills to quickly solve novel problems and remediate complex issues; Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Location: Customer Site in the Pentagon

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $136,000 - $184,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
