Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

This role is a key member of the team responsible for Bryan Health’s financial, human capital, and supply chain applications. This position will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of security configurations and access protocols within Workday. The administrator ensures user access is managed appropriately; sensitive employee data is safeguarded, and compliance requirements—including audit and regulatory standards—are consistently met. Working cross-functionally, this role will contribute to strategic and operational initiatives across Finance, Human Resources, and Supply Chain functions. Success in this role depends on a solid grasp of both system architecture and the business processes that drive Bryan Health’s operations.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.

2. *Designs and configures security roles and permissions within Workday, ensuring appropriate levels of access for different user groups.

3. *Reviews and updates security roles based on changes in business requirements, regulatory standards, and Workday updates.

4. *Manages and configures domain and business process security policies.

5. *Oversees the user provisioning and de-provisioning process, ensuring timely and accurate updates to user access rights.

6. Implements and manage role-based access controls (RBAC) to ensure that users have the minimum necessary access

7. Conducts regular access reviews and recertifications to maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

8. *Conducts regular audits of security configurations and user access to ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

9. Responds to and investigates security incidents, coordinating with Cyber Security and related teams to mitigate and resolves issues promptly.

10. *Develops, implements and maintains security policies, procedures, and guidelines to support the effective management of Workday security

11. *Creates and updates comprehensive documentation for security configurations, processes, and protocols.

12. *Provides training and support to end-users on security best practices and Workday security features.

13. Assists users with security-related issues and queries, providing timely and accurate resolutions.

14. *Works closely with departments to understand business needs and ensure that security configurations support organizational goals.

15. Stays up-to-date with the latest Workday updates, security trends, and best practices, integrating them into Bryan Health’s security strategy

16. Participates in Workday community forums, user groups, and training sessions to continuously improve skills and knowledge.

17. Effectively uses project management tools and methodologies.

18. Uses proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks

19. *Serves as a project leader or subject matter expert on diverse enterprise-wide projects to ensure that technology planning and implementation effectively includes Workday security management considerations; coaches other staff on issues related to Workday security administration and management.

20. Collaborates with other teams, such as Human Resources, Finance, Supply Chain, IT Operations, and Application Development, to ensure seamless Workday security integration.

21. *Provides regular feedback to management regarding Workday security and user access and administration issues.

22. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.

23. Participates in meetings, committees, and department projects as assigned.

24. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

1. Deep understanding of Workday’s security administration and framework including domains, roles, and business process policies.

2. Knowledge managing Domain Security Policies and Business Process Security Policies

3. Knowledge of Segregation of Duties (SoD) principles and their implementation within Workday

4. Knowledge of user identity management, access control, and provisioning tools and technologies, especially Sailpoint.

5. Knowledge of Security Configuration Migration using Workday Object Transporter (OOT)

6. Knowledge and proficiency in configuring and managing Workday Security Groups (e.g., Role-Based, User Based)

7. Knowledge of Workday Security Reports and their customization

8. Knowledge and proficiency in Workday User Provisioning and De-Provisioning processes.

9. Skill in analyzing and problem-solving, and ability to translate business requirements into secure system configurations

10. Skill in attention to detail.

11. Skill in analyzing data and information with a detailed understanding of regulatory requirements that impact the healthcare industry, as well as security frameworks and methodologies.

12. Ability to perform Security Audits and User Access Reviews with Workday

13. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

14. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

15. Ability to effectively solve problems.

16. Ability to provide superb customer service regarding a wide variety of requests.

17. Ability to work comfortably under pressure and deliver on tight deadlines.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on Workday experience, including 3 years in a dedicated Workday security role required. This includes experience administering security across multiple modules within Workday (e.g., HCM, Finance, Payroll, Time), as well as with Workday Prism, Adaptive Planning, or Extend from a security perspective. Proficiency in Workday Report Writer and Calculated Fields to support audit and access reporting.

OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:

Workday certifications in Security, HCM, or other relevant modules required.

May be required to travel to any of the Bryan Health sites in the state or related entities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

(Physical Requirements are based on federal criteria and assigned by Human Resources upon review of the Principal Job Functions.)

(DOT) – Characterized as sedentary work requiring exertion up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
