To thrive as a Weekend DSP, you need a high school diploma or equivalent, basic caregiving knowledge, and a strong commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities. Familiarity with documentation software, assistive devices, and first aid/CPR certification is often required. Weekend DSPs play a crucial part in maintaining consistency in care and ensuring individuals have enriching, safe experiences outside of the typical weekday structure.
