Job description

Overview
The Manager of Volunteer Services, under the guidance of the Director Guest Retail and Volunteer Services, manages all WakeMed Health & Hospitals Volunteer Services and related programs. Oversees the recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, and schedule of volunteer workers. Works closely with all department leaders to create and develop volunteer placement opportunities that support the strategic and aspirational goals of the organization.
Develops and manages department program goals and objectives in alignment with the strategic priorities of the organization. Oversee community programs, community in-kind donations, community presentations and recruitment efforts. Coordination of all volunteer hospital fundraising event and provide board relation support to two volunteer boards are an important component of this position.
Leads the Volunteer Services paid team to ensure excellence in process and outcomes for employees, volunteers, patients, and families. The Manager assists the Director of Guest Retail & Volunteer Services as assigned with additional responsibilities and improvement efforts as they arise.
