Job Summary
The Volunteer Services Manager plays a vital role in supporting the mission and vision of the organization by engaging and empowering volunteers to make a positive impact in their communities. The Volunteer Services Manager is responsible for the Volunteer Services Team and executing strategies and procedures that lead to the overall success of the DAP Health/Revivals Volunteer Program.
Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Volunteer Services Coordinator (VSC) and work with the VSC to supervise the Volunteer Services Team
  • Review weekly timesheets for accuracy, review employee submissions and updates as needed; approve timesheets by required timeline
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings (monthly at a minimum frequency, preferably bi-weekly), scheduled conversations, and annual performance reviews with direct reports by required timeline
  • Attend mandatory Manager’s Learning Collaborative trainings
  • Partner with People Operations to:
    • Develop a learning plan for employee development goals to provide tools needed to excel in their position
    • Implement and follow a process to address performance issues as they arise
    • Prepare a comprehensive onboarding process for each specific position for all new hires
    • Address serious issues that may require interventions or investigations 
  • Develop and monitor departmental and program/project operating budgets, costs and schedules
  • Supervise, lead, coach, and use best management practices to improve staff performance
  • Support and model the identified vision, values, and behaviors of the organization
  • Partner with each Revivals hiring manager and Learning Coordinator to ensure successful departmental onboarding for all new hires after new hire orientation
  • Work with Safety and Security Manager to ensure all new hires receive safety and security training

Essential Duties/Responsibilities 
Administration:

  • Manage Revivals Calendar to include holidays, birthdays, meetings, sales inventory, and more
  • Enter REV CLUB cards into website
  • Lead the Volunteer Services Team in creating a culture of one unified Volunteer Service Department (DAP Health/Revivals)
  • Collaborate with the Chief of Retail, Logistics, and Volunteer Services on volunteer needs, recruitment activities, budget, and/or any concerns related to the Volunteer Program
  • Process check requests and works closely with the Chief of Retail, Logistics, and Volunteer Services and the Volunteer Services Coordinator for budget and all volunteer related expenses
  • Work with Volunteer Services Coordinator to ensure volunteer database software is utilized to its fullest capacity
  • Work with team to maintain volunteer database including records regarding volunteer timesheets, hours of recorded volunteer service and volunteer application packets
  • Represent the Volunteer Services Department of DAP Health/Revivals in the community
  • Audit volunteer files to ensure completeness
  • Counsel volunteers or end the relationship when the need arises
  • Work to develop strategies to expand the Volunteer program throughout the agency

Employee Engagement:

  • Assist in the communication and delivery of employee wellness and benefit opportunities
  • Lead the Recognition Program for Revivals Staff including, recognizing birthdays, years of service, Kudos, etc.
  • Manage Revivals employee engagement activities
  • Take the lead in bringing appropriate engagement activities that take place on DAP Health’s main campus to the Revivals Stores

Resource and Development:

  • Partners with Resource and Development Department in support of all events requiring Volunteers
  • Assist with any volunteer support needs not related to eventsDAP Health:
  • Work to maintain recruitment and staffing of all essential volunteer support positions
  • Provide training for all managers who supervise a volunteer staff
  • Provide orientation for all DAP Health Volunteers and assist supervisors with managing volunteer issues
  • Assist as needed with planning of any DAP Health events or activitiesRecruitment:
  • Work closely with the Volunteer Team to recruit volunteers for all essential volunteer positions relating to Revivals Stores, DAP Health, and events
  • Oversee and participate in efforts to pre-screen, interview, and select volunteer candidates for Revivals
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed

Retention:

  • Review and update the Volunteer Manual and Revivals Best Practices as needed
  • Work with the Safety and Emergency Preparedness Manager to coordinate safety training for volunteers
  • Create and oversee recognition programs/events for volunteers
  • Work with Volunteer Team to ensure that our Volunteers have a positive service experience
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed

Education and Experience

  • Current BLS certification obtained through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • First Aid trained

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • This position is on-site at DAP Sunrise Admin
  • Requires current and valid driver’s license and current personal auto insurance 
  • Able to travel to DAP Health locations throughout the Coachella Valley
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Operates in an office setting at times and requires frequent times of sitting, standing, repetitive motion, and talking
  • May require heavy lifting, pushing or pulling objects over 50 pounds
  • Potential exposure to hazardous materials, irritants, and allergens
  • Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks, such as operating dangerous equipment or working with chemicals
  • Work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises
