Empowering our communities to alleviate hunger and improve health. That’s our mission, how are you going to drive it? The Volunteer Services Associate will train and monitor volunteers in the product recovery operation.

Where YOU make the impact!

· You’ll train volunteers to sort, evaluate and box donated products using established standards to ensure food safety.

· Create a fun, inclusive environment for volunteers as they meet the needs of our community

· Ensure volunteers are following all safety procedures while working

· You’ll keep product recovery work areas clean and organized, remove trash, recycle cardboard and promote overall cleanliness and inspection readiness.

· You’ll also assist with weekly cycle counts and data entry.

· Make sure to share innovative ideas about driving to meet the need in our community

· You’ll monitor inventory levels and request necessary items as needed.

· Do you know how to operate a forklift and pallet jack to place or pick product?

· You’ll also perform other duties as assigned.

What you need!

· Do you have a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of volunteer management experience? Keep going!

· Do you have working knowledge of computer programs, such as Microsoft office and the ability to enter orders into the system?

· Do you have a forklift certification and ability to safely operate an electric pallet jack. (We can train you too!)

· You must have ability to speak, read and write English; able to respond to inquiries and complaints in a tactful and helpful manner.

· Do you have the ability to train and monitor volunteers while working closely with them; ability to perform basic math, count and label product; pallet jack experience; forklift certification (required within 30 days of employment); ability to multi-task in a busy environment; compassion for our mission.

A Day in the life:

· You’ll primarily work in a warehouse environment

· You will find yourself frequently standing, walking, lifting, and pulling up to 50 pounds

· You’ll need to be ok with work weekend and evening availability and also be flexible
