Description

PeaceHealth is seeking a Home & Community Volunteer Associate for a Part Time, 0.60 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $21.59 – $32.39. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Job Summary

Responsible for specific volunteer support under direction of supervisor; work may include but is not limited to planning, organizing and coordinating communications, presentations, spreadsheets, basic project management, data and records management, etc. as defined within the scope of the role. Assists with recruiting, interviewing, training, assigning and overseeing PeaceHealth Home & Community volunteers. Serves as representative of Volunteer Services to hospice community and regional staff.

Essential Functions

  • Works directly with the Supervisor of Volunteer Program Home and Community, to fill volunteer positions, oversee training and paperwork requirements, and provide orientation for incoming volunteer staff.
  • Assists with initial screening and interviewing of volunteers. Ensures that they meet required qualifications.
  • Attends and contributes to committees and organizations whose activities are in direct association with volunteer services.
  • Assists with the development and coordination of recognition activities. Aids in data gathering to facilitate recognition of volunteers.
  • Assists with the annual volunteer performance reviews and education requirements.
  • Ensures accurate documentation and time tracking of all volunteer services per regulatory requirements.
  • Provides coverage for the Supervisor of Volunteer Program Home and Community.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Associate Degree Required: or a combination of education and experience and
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year Preferred: previous experience coordinating volunteers in a healthcare setting

Credentials

  • Preferred: Certification in Volunteer Administration

Skills

  • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to deal with a variety of situations, age groups, and personalities (Required)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (Required)
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize workflow in a dynamic environment (Required)
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Required)

  • Consistently operates computer and other office equipment.
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Sedentary work.

Environmental Conditions

  • Predominantly operates in an office environment.

Mental/Visual

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
