Purpose:

The Audio Visual Technician's primary objective is to ensure high-quality audio and visual experiences during internal and external events, meetings, and conferences. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive skill set in audio-visual technology, event support, and troubleshooting, enabling them to deliver exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain audio-visual equipment for various events, including presentations, conferences, and virtual meetings.
  • Collaborate with event organizers to understand technical requirements and provide recommendations for audio-visual solutions.
  • Ensure optimal sound, lighting, and video quality during live events by monitoring and adjusting equipment as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly during events to minimize disruptions and ensure a smooth experience for participants.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of multimedia presentations, ensuring content is engaging and accessible.
  • Maintain inventory and perform routine maintenance on audio-visual equipment to ensure reliability and functionality.
  • Train staff and end-users on the proper use of audio-visual technology and best practices for effective presentations.
  • Stay current with emerging audio-visual technologies and trends to continuously enhance service offerings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by leadership team.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Proven experience in multidisciplinary audio-visual operations in a corporate, control room, or financial setting.
  • Experience with simultaneous operation of equipment during live productions, such as ENG/robotic cameras, Dante Systems, QSC audio mixers, Yamaha QL5 mixer, Shure microphones, videoconferencing tools (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex), lighting systems, projectors, video shaders, and PC and Mac OS.
  • Video editing skills using Adobe Premiere.
  • Prior experience with camera and audio work, preferably in addition to technical directing, video editing, photography, and/or videography skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and time management skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service and collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Willingness to learn and embrace new technologies.
  • Primarily available for shifts during business hours on an as-needed events-based cadence, with flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed for special events.

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to maintain and set up robotic cameras and lighting in studio, auditorium, and/or interview positions.
  • Ability to establish microphones, IFBs, and comms for productions.
  • Experienced with editing interviews, productions, and other mixed media.
  • Experience or familiarity with configuration of equipment in preparation for production.
  • Experience with building production carts/flypacks and connecting components to create innovative solutions.

Physical Requirements

The physical requirement of this position is sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Salary: $102k
