What is a virtual audio visual?

Virtual Audio Visual specialists are professionals who manage and operate audio and visual technology for online or hybrid events, meetings, or presentations. They handle tasks such as setting up virtual meeting platforms, managing microphones and cameras, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring high-quality sound and video transmission. Their expertise ensures that virtual events run smoothly and that participants have a seamless experience, regardless of their location.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a virtual audio visual technician?

To thrive as a Virtual Audio Visual (AV) Technician, you need a solid understanding of AV systems, networking, troubleshooting, and typically a relevant technical certification or experience in AV technology. Familiarity with video conferencing platforms, streaming software, digital mixers, and control systems like Crestron or Extron is essential. Strong communication, problem-solving, and adaptability are crucial soft skills for managing live events and supporting clients remotely. These skills ensure seamless virtual event execution, minimize technical disruptions, and provide professional client experiences.
