As a member of BITS, the Lead Audio Visual Specialist is a leader, charting the roadmap for all AV technologies and spaces at Broad. This role is responsible as both a subject matter expert (SME) for AV technology and a manager of the AV team. In partnership with our Service Desk team, the AV Team leads front-line operations and support of AV, working hand-in-hand with Broad's user community to ensure the success of their collaborative events. This position demands both deep technical knowledge and top-class customer service.
Technology Strategy:
  • Assess emerging IT and AV technologies to recommend innovative solutions for the organization.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align technology initiatives with business goals, focusing on long term value propositions and cost efficiency
  • Development and ownership of the Unified Communications Roadmap

Technology Operations:
  • Oversee the daily operations of IT systems and equipment, ensuring they meet organizational needs for collaboration and communication.
  • Build and maintain technology health dashboard, ensuring real-time understanding of operational status
  • Act as a subject matter expert for technology integration, focusing on combining IT and AV solutions to enhance productivity.
  • Monitor and improve the performance of technology systems, with a focus on minimizing downtime and enhancing usability.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation, including inventories, system diagrams, and support procedures.

Team Management
  • Management of AV professional staff (1 FTE), responsible for performance management and mentoring professional development
  • Mentorship and training of SD contractors, developing AV capacity within the frontline team

Vendor and Partner Management:
  • Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to procure, maintain, and optimize IT and AV resources.
  • Negotiate service agreements and ensure vendor performance aligns with organizational expectations.
  • Project management of all AV installations and overhauls, holding both external and internal partners accountable to timelines and milestones

Event Technology Management:
  • Lead the technical setup and execution of critical live and virtual events, ensuring all AV and IT components function seamlessly.
  • Introduce creative solutions to enhance the audience experience during events.

End-User Support and Training:
  • Provide hands-on support and troubleshooting for staff using IT and collaboration technologies, including AV systems.
  • Develop user-friendly training materials and conduct workshops to ensure effective adoption of tools.

Requirements:
  • 7+ years experience in AV technology and event management fields
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Systems Management, or related field - or commensurate experience
  • Hands-on experience with technology integration, collaboration platforms, and AV systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while ensuring high-quality delivery.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Desired Certifications
  • Operations and Project Management certifications such as ITILv4, PMP, CSM, CPO
  • Technology certifications such as: CTS, Net+, Dante Certification

Working Conditions
  • Normal office conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lb's
  • Working hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm Mon-Fri, may be asked to come in earlier/stay later as needed

The expected base pay range for this position as listed above is based on a 40 hour per week schedule. Broad provides pay ranges representing its reasonable and good faith estimate of what the organization reasonably expects to pay for a position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, qualifications, and other factors permissible by law.
