The Myriad Women's Health Regional Medical Specialist (MWH RMS) is a strategic and critical position within the company, responsible for providing clinical education and support on prenatal genetics and hereditary cancer risk assessment and management, to healthcare providers and key opinion leaders. The MWH RMS supports three products: Myriad myRisk hereditary cancer panel (including riskScore), Myriad Prequel NIPS screen and Myriad Foresight carrier screening panel.

As a Product Design Manager, you will report to the VP of Design & User Experience and be responsible for managing a team of UX and Visual designers. If you have a passion for transforming patients' lives and designing workflows to make the patient and provider experience easier, then this is the role for you!
Responsibilities:
The UX Manager provides day to day management of a group of user experience designers focused on one segment of our business. In this role you will:

  • Maintain an effective and enthusiastic team with an open and positive attitude.
  • Acts as mentor and motivator and encourages collaboration within the team and with our stakeholders
  • Work with direct reports to establish regular objectives and tracks their progress
  • Write and deliver performance reviews
  • Manage design activities within the group, as well as direct hands-on participation where warranted.
  • Ensure the quality of design work and adherence to brand and accessibility standards.
  • Conduct design reviews to ensure alignment with key stakeholders in product management and engineering as well as at times medical, legal, regulatory, and compliance.
  • Build strong relationships with peers in Engineering, Product and other groups, often involving situations which require influencing and persuading others.
  • Support collaborative, innovative culture that advocates user-centered design and a positive customer experience.
  • Take responsibility when problems or opportunities are identified within the group, and initiate actions that result in high-quality solutions.
  • Be perceived to be a leader by others, who look to you for guidance and direction.


Required Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in user experience design, interaction design, visual and user interface design, information architecture, or service design.
  • Experienced leader with 2+ years of experience hiring, developing, and managing UX professionals.
  • Proficiency with Figma (our primary tool) or similar tools.
  • Ability to facilitate critiques and mentor your team in gracefully accepting feedback.
  • A portfolio featuring examples of outstanding design work in SaaS platforms, apps or services. May also include dashboards, reports and any medical/health related work.
  • Expertise of interactive UX/UI design and methodologies, communication, storytelling and problem solving
  • Experience working in an agile development environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Product Design and content, and help align, alongside partners and stakeholders, strategic steps forward portfolios of work.
  • Degree in design related field (UX, cognitive science, fine arts, etc), completion of a design bootcamp or certification program, OR equivalent work experience
  • Experience creating end-to-end experiences, including desktop, mobile web, mobile app, and enterprise software
  • Travel 4 to 6 times a year to meet with the team, visit Myriad offices (California, Utah, or Ohio) and participate in user research visits.
  • Nice to have: Experience working in health care or scientific products
