The Federal Work - Study Interactions & UI/UX Assistant position assists in the general daily operations for the School of Interaction & UI/UX Design helping students and faculty, ensuring the smooth functioning of department initiatives and events, supporting the Director in content creation, event coordination, as well as basic administrative functions.
This Federal Work Study position will support current students by providing them with timely communications, event notifications, and aesthetically pleasing design. In addition, this position will complement and reinforce a Federal Work Study student's educational program or vocational goals by providing opportunities for the Federal Work Study Assistant to increase their skills with current equipment, learn customer service skills, and learn basic administrative skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with content creation for Blogs, Websites, Signage, etc. that connects with our current students and industry.
  • Assist with UI Design, UX Testing, etc. for department specific interfaces.
  • Communicate with current students on various activities and events happening in the department through emails and other communication channels.
  • Assist with general departmental administrative tasks.

Qualifications:
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Proficiency with Figma, Adobe CC and the Microsoft Office suite.

Location: 180 New Montgomery Street; Room 502
Reports to: Frederick McHale, Director, School of Interaction & UI/UX Design
Pay Rate: $19.18 per hour
Application Deadline: April 27, 2026
Work Schedule: Available to work Monday - Friday between
10:00 am and 5:00 pm
Up to 20 hours per week*
*Federal Work Study work schedules may not conflict with the student's class schedule.
Length of Employment: The student's starting term at the Academy of Art University through graduation.
